  1. How do you pick boarding time? And is this for all ports? I just did my online check-in but did not notice a option to select check-in time it just printed on my boarding pass as 12:30pm? The port is Jaxport. Whenever I've sailed from Jaxport before we've just shown up and not had a problem.

Nevermind!:p I see that is for sailings out of Galveston, Miami and New Orleans at this time. Sorry....shoulda went to the website first:rolleyes:

  2. Can you tell me if a drivers license and birth certificate will work for boarding ect? We were going to get passports but I think we missed the window. Leaving in three weeks.

    From Carnival website:

"Also acceptable for cruise travel, U.S. Citizens can show proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate issued by a government agency accompanied by a government issued photo I.D."

Just make sure birth cert is one issued by government agency and not like the hospital one with the footprints:p

  3. The last time I went I booked a beach day through Paradise Cove (Deadman's Reef). It was really nice! They have snorkeling and paddle boarding and a spot to play volleyball. The beach is really clean. They have a place to order food and drinks. If I were to go to Freeport again I would definitely book them again!

  4. Where does it show up on your cruise documents when you pre-pay?

If you go into "My Cruise Manager", there is a "To Do List" box....click on Print Documents....from there select "Print General Information" (and you do not need to print to view) and in the Invoice you will find details about pre-paid gratuities. IDK if that's the easiest way but it's the way I know;)

  5. THE CHEF’S TABLE

Carnival has an exciting fine dining option for our guests – The Chef’s Table. This one-of-a-kind culinary experience includes an exquisite multi-course private dinner hosted by one of the line’s master chefs along with a private champagne reception (soft drinks for kids) and a personalized tour of the galley.

With The Chef’s Table, a select group of 12-16 guests (children must be 12 years of age and older) enjoy champagne and hors d’ouevres hosted by the ship’s chef de cuisine. The chef then takes the group on a personalized tour to see the galley in operation, providing participants with a unique perspective on Carnival’s extensive food and beverage operations.

The evening concludes with a sumptuous full-service dinner with delicious appetizers, entrees and desserts created by the line’s master chefs as well as red and white house wine. Depending on the vessel, the meal takes place in non-traditional dining venues throughout the ship – the galley, library, conference center, etc. The Carnival Vista has a dining room specifically for Chef’s Table with window views into the galley.

The cost is $75 USD per person. Children must be at least 12 years of age to participate. The dinner(s) as well as the dinner date(s) are subject to the number of guests wishing to participate in this experience.

The dress code follows the dress code specified for that evening on board; since guests are taken on a personalized tour of the galley, open-toed, heels and shoes with slippery soles are discouraged.

    Pre-Cruise Reservation Procedures

Prior to the cruise, guests can send an email to Group Event Planning at eventplanning@carnival.com.

Requests must be submitted no later than 7 days prior to the sail date.

The subject line should read ‘Chef’s Table Request’ and the email should include the following information:

    Names

Number of guests attending (children must be 12 years of age and older)

    Ship and Saildate

    Booking Number and Cabin Number

Group Event Planning will email the request to the specific ship Maitre d’.

The Maitre d’ will respond directly to the guest if they are able to accommodate the request.

Once onboard, the guest’s Sail & Sign card will be charged.

    On Board Reservation Procedures

Reservations can be arranged on board with the Steakhouse Hostess.

On the following ships that do not have a Steakhouse, reservations can be arranged onboard with the Maitre d': Carnival Ecstasy, Carnival Elation, Carnival Fantasy, Carnival Fascination, Carnival Imagination, Carnival Inspiration, Carnival Paradise, Carnival Sensation, Carnival Triumph and Carnival Victory.

  6. I would be interested in an answer on this too. Going the beginning of April.

me too! when in April and which ship? I'm April 4th on Fascination. We will be in Nassau on the 7th.

  7. I am not sure if this is correct. I cancelled on a cruise that included my daughter, husband and I. I rebooked a different cruise with only my husband and I and could not use the $200 from my daughters payment even though I paid the entire amount on my credit card.

I'm not sure how it is now, but a couple of years ago two of my cousins booked together had to cancel and I was able to fill out a form that transferred their remaining balance to me. So I was able to use the whole $400 ($200 from each). Now I can not remember what form but I do remember calling in and those were the instructions given to me. It may have changed but this was about maybe four years ago.

  8. Has anyone just taking a taxi to Atlantis and just purchased the pass for the aquarium directly from them? I don't want to do the package with beach day.... just want to go to aquarium. Thanks in advance!

  9. We purchased Carnival gift cards last cruise and applied them at check in. We have used a debit and credit card before and had holds but had enough of a balance that it didn't effect us. We will probably do gift cards again as we like the fuel perks.

I used the Carnival gift card my last cruise as well and it was so easy and they even gave me cash back at the end as I did not use it all!:D

  10. from what I remember it is about a 30 min ride from the port to PC....so it will probably b after two b4 u make it in the water..... i guess it depends on how long u plan to snorkel. if i'm wrong about how long it takes someone please correct me:p

  11. So here ends another Georgia Pearl review. I went back and read this whole thing myself, and this just might be my favorite review that I've written. It was a great birthday and a great cruise. It's so funny that when I was wearing my Kim's 35th birthday cruise shirt on day 1, I was constantly being asked if I was Kim because everyone said I don't look like I'm 35. I guess that's a good thing. Maybe when I'm 50, I'll look like I'm 35. lol My next milestone birthday is for*cough, cough, COUGH* I can't say it. I might as well go kick back with the latest AARP magazine and wait on the next hot flash. :D

Just wanted to ask where did you get your birthday tee?

  12. Hi Granny!!! I've been on 7 cruises with two of them being on the Fascination and my upcoming cruise is on the Fascination as well! As you pointed out it does not have all the "bells and whistles" but I enjoy it and myself on VACATION!!!! Which means I don't have to work, cook, clean, drive or any of those other pesky little day to day task!:D I honestly can't figure out all of the negativity, but then again I am pretty easy to please..... I plan to have fun when I book a cruise and FUN is exactly what I do!!!!
