  1. Mom of 3 here ( and avid cruiser). Buy a cheap umbrella stroller that you don't mind throwing out after the trip if need be. It will be filthy from flying. Sandy from the beach. Have sunscreen all over it and the remains of any treat you allow the baby. It will get wet from soggy swim diapers since it gets easier to just take them back to the room for a change then manage in the on deck bathroom. As for shade, a old receiving blanket or a sunbrella fabric picnic blanket does the job.

  2. It was not ideal but when we were in a similar situation we brought the car seats in one of the big backpack cases for travel. That was difficult but it worked. From there we rented a car ( got a great rate by shopping around). We left the car seats as well as winter jackets etc in the car for the cruise. Not the easiest or cheapest option but it is what worked for us good luck.

Is there any chance the kids will wright into a booster seat by then. Way easier to travel with.

  3. Stay at the intercontential. It is fun to watch the runners in the morning. It is a really big deal. We did exactly your plan last year for DCL and it worked out fine. The cops will guide you along a back route but it still takes a long time for what normally would be a 2 minute drive. No way would I have wanted to be out of downtown and fighting the crowds to get to the ship. The city is in gridlock.

  4. The cruisers have 3 possible days pre-cruise to explore before boarding in Miami on a Sunday. Do you recommend a hotel in fll or mia ( Keys perhaps). What our the options for transportation without paying to rent/park during the 7 day cruise. While the budget isn't super tight it is a consideration. Thanks for your advise.
