  1. I have gone through all of the posts on this particular board.   I see that starboard might give more afternoon sunshine.  Sunset is better seen from Port.   But I’ve not found where anyone has commented on views once you hit land in Europe?

we are booked from Ft Lauderdale to Rome April 20- May 2.   This will be our first transatlantic.   I am guessing that will be a fairly southern Route.   Will it be fairly warm or cool?   So anxious to start cruising again….

    thanks!

  2. I read in a post that some of the thermal spas have primarily segregated areas.  Are the lounging areas and the hot tubs on the Epic co-ed?  I’m thinking about buying the pass for my sig other and I, But we would want to spend our time together...

  3. Yes, first night Illusionarium is free with UDP... only the first night.

We did book all of our meals in advance, but ended up changing probably half of them. Just drop by the concierge desk and ask Anoop or one of the others to either make the reservations or change any of them you would like.

I don't remember Sunday being Lobster day in The Haven. I think it was thurs for us... They suggested we make reservations when we were in for breakfast that day. But said we didn't need them. If I had it to do over again I would forget the UDP and eat I. The Haven every night and just have whatever meal I wanted brought into the Restaurant.

Enjoy your trip! Ours was fabulous!!!! LOVED the Haven so much we're doing it again on The Epic in Dec

  4. So I read somewhere that the hair dryers in the bathrooms are pretty weak and wimpy, do I need to pack my own? Also, since I am really near sighted, I need to be able to get close to the mirror to out my eye makeup on... Is that possible in the room or do I need a makeup mirror?

We are sailing on the Getaway in two weeks!

  5. I once did a cruise to a dog show in the Bahamas many, many years ago. We had about 100 dogs aboard. One of the many issues (the non dog passengers were not informed ahead of time that there would be a lot of dog on board) was where the dogs would relieve themselves. They gave us the furthest upper deck, with poor access... Not convenient. So, when these service animals sail, where do they relieve themselves??? Just curious!!!

  6. Someones TA screwed up and there is an elderly person with them, and they wouldn't be able to do the stairs, they explained, Uh sorry but I also have an elderly person with me and truth be told, if the cabin on 16 is available why not put them in there? Why even ask me to move? I bet the glass door directly into the Haven is a lot more appealing to them then the restaurant wall. I think the offer of $100 is ridiculous on a cabin of this price, obviously I declined. (Please note I already have $550.00 OBC, UDP & UBP from TA)

So given the choice, would you have taken the OBC or would you have declined the "offer". I am just curious what others would have done.

Sounds like the opposite side of what happened to us. (However we're not in a 2 br and it appears we're traveling several months earlier than you are). We booked a Haven suite and were assured our cabin opened directly onto the Haven Courtyard. When the emails came from our PCC, we were on deck 15. Contacted PCC who said that the diagrams were confusing and assured us we would walk directly into the courtyard. After reading as much as I could find here, I knew I was right and contacted PCC again and sent copies of his emails and a diagram of the ship... he finally agreed he made a mistake. He offered no help in fixing this, but after talking to his supervisor, we were moved up to 16.

I'm hoping they moved us to an open cabin and didn't displace someone else!!

Starting to get really anxious! This will be my first cruise in over 10 yrs.

  7. I will be in a Haven suite on my upcoming cruise, so I will have access to Cagneys for lunches. Is the menu at lunch similar to dinner, or do we need to do a dinner there as well as some lunches?

We also have the ultimate dining package, so plan to try many of the specialty resturants. Le bistro and the Brazilian resturant are on my must try list. Suggestions for other must try resturants?

Is the final night one where you should be in the MDR? Do they have a farewell party in the dinning room?

    Thanks

  8. We have cabin 15114 book on an upcoming cruise. We were told that it opens directly into the Haven. From looking at the deck plans, it appears that technically that is true, but it looks like it opens directly into the wall of the fitness center right down from the underneath of the Haven pool. Can anyone tell me if this is a good place to be. We had choices, but the consultant convinced us this was the best choice...

    Thanks
