  1. Agree. A few times while in the Casino at a smoking table or at a slot machine in the smoking area the person who sits down next to me will start coughing. Even though they knew I was smoking and sat down next to me the first thing I do is ask if my smoking is bothering them and put my cigarette out. If I sit down at a smoking table I always ask those at the table if they mind if I smoke. If someone says yes, I'll hold off or find another table. We all need to respect each other - makes living more enjoyable!

Sometimes it can be as simple as me asking the other person to hold their cigarette in the other hand so it is not next to me. It really does all boil down to common courtesy...

Funny story, a friend and I were in Atlantic City playing slots late at night. This older woman (must have been in her 70s) walked up to us and asked in a raspy voice "do either of you have a light?" I replied no ma'am I don't smoke. She said (I sear to the lord exactly this) "well go f*$k yourselves then". I had to ask my friend if I heard what I though i did. We both laugh about it to this day and say GFY to each other whenever we sit at those same slot machines!

  2. I can not believe that i just wasted 10 min of my life reading about what side of the ship you can and cannot smoke on.

You Never See people Bitching about the amount of Alcohol that is served or Kids In the "ADULT ONLY POOL AREA".

Every single person on this tread has been on numerous sailings and Still Bitch about Where people can and can not smoke on the Ship. Is Bitching about something that is 100% legal throughout the world make you feel better about yourselves?

If Smoking is the biggest complaint you have about going on a cruise maybe you should re-think your Plans and Stay home.

Better yet I would love for you to put as much energy into Enjoying your freedom to be able travel where ever you want whenever you want.

Heres what you do: Don't go by Any Bars on the Ship, Stay out of the Casino, Don't Use your Balcony, Don't go to the PORT Side, Don't Pay to go to VIBE ( they allow you to smoke there).

Don’t bother responding to this I wont read them just happened to see the 1st post and though I would take a look.

That was totally uncalled for. I am a non-smoker and I hate it that there are a handful of rude and inconsiderate smokers who make a bad name for teh reast, bit that was just plain not called for. If you had expressed yoru feelings/opinions in a different way perhaps others would have actually listened and gave some credence to yoru views. I for one fail to comprehend why otherwise educated people would actually choose to smoke since it is 100% undeniable that there are extremely serious health risks involved, however that is their choice. I do think that smoking should be eliminated from all pubic areas everywhere and I do think eventually that will be the rules. I have found though that if there is a situation where someone's smoking is actually bothering me personally, most of the times it can be handled in an adult grown up manner between me and the other person.

  3. I know there is no charge for a child 3 or under for the UDP, but I can't seem to find anywhere on NCL's website regarding the soda program. It only shows a price for 12 and under and I know that if one person buys it then the whole family has to buy it. I am thinking there should be a cutoff age because they can't expect babies and toddler to drink soda. So what about my 3 year old toddler? He doesn't drink soda. Am I still required to purchase this for him?

the soda program does NOT require all members of your party to buy it. the alcohol program does but not the soda program.

  4. Without a doubt! I work a second job in customer service and am frequently on the other end… I am always mindful of that when I am the customer. :) It's a good reminder for all, though!

when we first booked our cruise for three of us it cost us right at $3000. at the same time as the freesome and kids sail free both hit, the upgrade outside -> balcony hit and prices dropped. i called a pcc and gave left a message asking her to call me. i then sent an email with my details and simply asked her to look into whatever she could do for us and let me know what adjustment was available. she called back and asked some questions being worried about some of the changes and how we woudl feel about them. i told her 'we are easy to get along with, just work up what you can do for us and give us the new price'. she said ok and gave us a new price of right around $1600. we were very happy. afte we hung up she called back about 30 seconds later all worried again because we lost the $10 ncl casino offer that they quit selling. i told her that was not an issue at all. she had just saved us over $1400. I was not at all concerned about $10. she was very relieved and even said 'you really are easy to get along with'. since then she has called back a couple of times to make sure some other things have been addressed. i am absolutely sure that if i have any questions or issues at all that they will be fully addressed with a quick email.

  5. yes by all means call and ask you pcc about any special deal you see. the net cost of the new deal may end up not being better for you but if you do not ask you will never find out. the way i figure it, if you are willing to her the answer 'no' if that happens to be it, go ahead and ask the question. one last thing, if the answer does happen to be 'no', treat your pcc the same as if it had been yes. they remember customers who treat them well and go the extra mile when they call back!

  6. I usually fill up a couple of plastic baggies with ranch and smuggle them aboard. Make sure if you do this you get the zip lock baggie that has the power seal. You don't want to walk through security with hidden valley running down your leg.

now the vision of that is burned deeply into my brain forever!

  7. reading about comped cruises here which leads me to another question (that may well be redundant). from what i am reading you can get a cruise comped by either a land based casino (caesers total rewards etc) or the cas program. is this correct? as far as the cas comped cruises go, do hey comp you a different level cabin based on your play?

  8. Just want to let you all know that I just heard back from my TA. She was able to make the adjustment, and I saved $148. I'm happy about that. Thanks for your help!

great news. ncl is usually very good about these things. we have saved a huge amount (almost 50%) from our original booking price and we are still months out from final payment. keep your eyes open and if things change again call back and see what they can do. enjoy your cruise and hve fun with your extra $148!

  9. enjoy. word of caution. never die with more than one book of matches in your jeans pocket. something not nice happens when one book slides inside another and the striker board rub across the match heads. ouch at 70 mph can be very un-fun!
