  1. Thanks SuiteTraveler and WW. I have heard iffy things about Carnival, and we were thinking either Disney or NCL as other options. I guess I am just looking for something that has more options. RCCL has been declining in the service, we always paid the more because at one time we always were told they were worth the cost. But now not so much. I just think along with service their cleanliness is on the decline, we had rotten apples sent to the room and also a brown stained comforter placed on our bed one night. We had the room attendant come right in and change it out. That was just the top of some of the issues had. :(

Was just overall a disappointment, especially since we were big fans of the cruise line, now I just want to figure another line to try that wouldn't be a waste of money, it is just a big chunk of change, and we have friends that said overall, Disney was nice, but not worth the $$$

  2. Bruce, my concern was we booked a family vacation with the intentions of our children to have activities too. We chose Bermuda for the beach time and also knew that travelling from New England they would be able to use the pools on day 2 of the sailing. Given that we were in 50 degree weather and heading toward a colder climate, they were unable to utilize the pools. Did we do the shows, no, but that is not my complaint, I would have thought they would have given the option for a refund to a future cruise if we wanted it. Don't get me wrong, I am sure that the Canadian Ports are great for an older crowd, since full of history and pubs, but there is not much for children on those ports. Kids can only do shopping so much. I was not looking for cash back and would have been willing to book immediately if given the option.

There was multiple communications from the get go, and "issues" with other on-board and cabin concerns that have been photographically documented. But honestly, I am not concerned with those as much as the inability to opt out of this cruise and transfer what I paid into this to a future booking. Again, I wasn't looking for my money back, just more of an opportunity of getting the type of vacation we booked which was to a warm destination for the use of pools. At 25% refund to a future booking, there was really NO option but to go on this cruise. Anyone that would opt to not go on this forced excursion and lose 75% of what they paid into it would have the luxury that we don't have. We work hard for our money in order to take the kids on vacations. If we were able to have the kids use the pool and stay active, would have been a different story, but it was really windy and cold for the little ones to be out and swimming. And I know that RCCL would not be willing to pay for the doctor bills.

  3. That is not the complaint it is the service on board. No one knew anything when you asked. I had coupons they provided me with for items to purchase on ship that they didn't have on ship. Rotten apples brought to room by room service and those kinds of things. No bartender at dinner service to do a round of shots with friends etc. It was the service not the destination. Although, offering ONLY 25% on a refund for us for future cruise was a joke. Should have been at least 75

  4. We've sailed multiple times on RCCL. We actually just got back home yesterday from what was supposed to be a warm destination that turned into canada. I get weather issues but it seems that the last two experiences we have had with RCCL have been subparTo what we are accustomed to when it comes to service with this cruiseline. I am not sure if it is because of the release of their 2 new ships or what. But something is not the same. I know of two other couples that sailed different class ships to different destinations and had similar experiences.

So now, i am looking for other cruiseline recs. We travel with kids ages 1 to 7. Would love Disney but honestly can't touch their prices. So carnival, norweigian etc? Recs greatly appriciated
