Thanks, all! Glad to know I can enjoy my coffee without bringing my own.

I know this is really picky, but I hate the pink stuff AND the blue stuff. Does anyone know if Splenda is available? If not, I will bring my own. Thanks!

I think it's really great that it's offered, but there's no way I'm going to drink that much. I only like the fruity, sugar-laden foofoo drinks and sugar is NOT my friend these days. If I weren't worried about the sugar content, I would almost certainly go for it, or the "Soda and more" package at the very least. I could probably drink my own weight in "mocktails" :D

I'm a noob, but I'm definitely planning to use a lanyard. I don't always have pockets, and even if I do, I can't count the times I've lost stuff out of them. Not too worried about looking like a tourist - I doubt it can be avoided, even with my cruise card in my purse. And I'm pretty sure that I'll look like a noob regardless of my lanyard, too.
I'm handy with a needle & thread, so maybe I'll make my own. If I'm gonna look like a dork anyway, I may as well customize it and *own* it! :D

Husband and I are going to Alaska on the Grand Princess in two weeks. It's our first cruise and I could not be more excited!!

You're good if it's a "closed loop cruise" that departs and ends in the same US port. You are also good to go ashore in Canada, just not on any excursions that cross the US/Canadian border.
Thanks, DWJoe. I forgot to mention that it's a closed loop. I'm confused about going ashore in Canada, though. I thought I would not be able to leave the ship at all while it's in Victoria without a passport. That's not the case? That would be really cool if I could go look around Victoria for a few hours. (If not, I guess I can just lounge around the ship drinking cocktails. Boo hoo ;) )

(Sorry to threadjack...)
I was wondering about this issue as well. I don't have a passport, just my DL and a "Certified Copy" of my birth certificate that I got from the county clerk. I'm sailing in two weeks and I definitely don't have time to get a passport.
I don't intend to go ashore in Canada. I'm good, right??

I recently kicked the soda habit, so I won't be getting the soda package. Not a big drinker, so I'm just going to buy my cocktails one at a time. I'm already planning to get the coffee card.
What else is available that isn't soda or cocktails? Is iced tea and lemonade still available for free throughout the day? Saw older posts that suggest this is the case, but looking for more recent info. Thanks!

I use Dropbox to transfer files (including pictures) between my phone, computer, and tablet. It was pre-installed on my phone, so you might already have it. It's extremely useful!

Enjoy your cruise! My husband and I will be taking our very first cruise on the Grand to Alaska on May 18th.

I opted to reschedule my cruise from September to May so that I could get the cruise in before the surgery. Maybe that's an option for you? Whatever you decide, good luck to you!

Congrats on the weight loss!
I'm going on my first cruise on May 18, and will be scheduling my sleeve immediately when I get back. I've lost 30lbs on the pre-op diet and feel like I'm in control of my eating, but I must admit I'm a little worried about eating to excess on the ship.
What beverages are included on Princess?

Thanks for all the helpful info. I'll pack some of those "on the go" drink mixes so I know I'll always have something sugar-free that I like. Great suggestion, MSN Cruisers!
