  1. I booked directly with NCL because my TA didn't call me back. After I booked my TA called me back and offered me 100 OBC if I transfer the reservation to her. She also mentioned that NCL should have given me a $25 OBC at the time of booking. I called my PCC at NCL and asked about the $25 OBC and she seemed annoyed and told me she needs to speak to her supervisors to see if she could add it. She did add it but it seemed awkward. Today I see NCL is offering $100 OBC and free balcony upgrade. I feel weird about calling her now. Do you think I should cancel my booking and rebook with my TA?

  2. Thank you so much. My cruise is in December on the Getaway and I am dreaming of all the food and fun. Plus trying to decided whether to get the UDP so these posts will help me make my decision.

  3. Call now and check with NCL for the availability and pricing. I got the Kids Sail Free deal for a cruise in December. I have twin 3.5 year olds so this was a HUGE savings for us. The kids sail free option is available until March 31st but your sailing dates are not limited to right now. Also, they only require a small deposit ($250) for us and it's completely refundable up to a certain date (ours is in Sept). I booked last week and I have 6 months to pay for it or get a refund. Just make sure you call and have them price it out for you.

  4. I am contemplating the UDP but I do not plan on going to Ocean Blue. I think it's insulting to offer an "ULTIMATE" dining plan and not including all of the specialty restaurants within it. There is nothing on that menu listed above that would be worth an additional $50pp. Just my opinion!

  5. Also remember that the specialty restaurants are a dining experience and can take easily over an hour from start to finish. If your looking to see shows in the evenings then going in and leaving and coming back for a second meal will kill a good part of your evening. I would rather eat a great meal at Cagney's go see a show and then hit the buffet or the noodle bar or The Pub a bit later then finish it off with chocolate filled crepes :)

  6. I weighed over 200lbs last June. I did the Omnitrition Diet and finally got down to 145 and have maintained it since November...even thru the holidays. It is a very contravertail diet only eating 500 calories a day but it worked for me and despite everyone telling me I will gain it all back when I introduce more calories, that was far from the truth. Gaining the weight back has nothing to do with the way you lose it and everything about maintenance and learning to eat differently. I wish you luck. Losing weight is hard work and it will be hard work for the rest of your life, not just while dieting but it is totally doable. Pick something that works for you and stick with it. Weigh yourself EVERYDAY. Don't miss a day...that's how it starts to slip away from you and enjoy the journey. You will be surprised what you learn about yourself :)

  7. I have twin 3 year olds (they will be 4 when we set sail) and we are older parents and I am looking forward to our cruise. Last year we took them to Walt Disney World for a week and my hair turned grey...literally LOL. I swore on our drive back that our next family vacation would be a cruise so we can put them in camp a few hours a day to give them and us a break.

  8. I have a TA and when I called her, she didn't call me back for 3 days. I'm the meantime, NCL called me back immediately and gave me a great rate on "the last room available" for the kids sail free promo on my specific sailing. I booked with NCL directly. 2 days AFTER I booked with NCL she called me and she of course told me there were no rooms in my category available (duh, by now I knew that) so her rate was much higher for a better room which I didn't want. I then told her I already booked with NCL directly and she said I can call them and have them transfer my reservation to her and she can give me a $25.00 OBC. Huh? How is that worth it or even fair to the wonderful NCL cruise consultant that helped me? No thank you!
