  1. Carnival will be using the shipyard in Finland to build some new ships.

I know, Meyer Turku will be used to construct the new class of ships now known as Excellence class for Carnival Cruises.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Excellence-class_cruise_ship

But i still think a fourth Vista class could very well be on the blocks for Carnival. For example Royal Caribbean now has ships on order at three different shipyards.

  2. Hi all, while reading the wikipedia page of the Vista class two things caught my eye.

At first when you look at the ships it lists the three Carnival ships and two Costa ships which have been officially ordered by Carnival Corporation.

But it also shows a fourth Carnival ship with smaller letters saying Carnival Zephyr to set sail in 2021.

Let’s not discuss about this name as it simply can’t be known to public yet, but lets look at the possibilty of a fourth Vista class for Carnival in 2021.

Fincantieri is the yard who makes the Vista class ships for Carnival. So far only two cruise ships will be delivered in 2021 ( HAL and Virgin ), compared to other years where they delivered up to four ships in a year.

Carnival Panorama was announced somewhere late 2017 ( correct me if i’m wrong ). So there would still be time to announce a new ship for 2021.

I would really like it if they ordered another Vista class ship as i really enjoyed the Vista so who knows!

The second thing that caught my eye was the new class of ships that would succeed Vista. Obviously the LNG ships that have been ordered will come in after the Vista but on the Vista Wikipedia it states that the Vista class will be succeeded by the Millenium class. The first should set sail in 2025.

    Carnival Millenium. Sounds good right?

I know it’s just Wikipedia and everyone can edit but lets post any possible news here as the subject of future cruise ships always gets me excited!

Here is the link for those of you interested. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vista-class_cruise_ship_(Carnival)

  3. Okay apparently Splendor hasn't been named as year round Australia just yet altough I really thought I read it somewhere. Sorry for that. But with Carnival wanting two ships sailing from Australia year round I still think she will end up in Australia.

Carnival Australia Executive Chairman Ann Sherry also announced that Carnival Cruise Line intends to increase its Australia operation to two ships sailing full-time in 2020.

  4. The first news already started coming and it is always my favorite subject to speculate about new homeports so I thought it was a good idea to start a new thread.

So now its confirmed Carnival Glory will reposition to New Orleans to cover for Carnival Triumph who will be in dry dock ( for 2 months !!! ).

I read that when Carnival signed a contract extension with Port of New Orleans that New Orleans were trying to persuade Carnival to operate three ships from New Orleans. Will Dream, Triump and Glory all operate from New Orleans? If so who will replace Glory in Miami.

Also, with Splendor going down under year round from 2019 who will replace her in on the west coast? Could een finally see a Dream class going to the west coast?

Vista 3 is also coming in 2019. With Norwegian having Breakaway in New Orleans for the winter of 2018 could we see Carnival operate Vista 3 or any other bigger ship operate from New Orleans coming winter 2019 to counter Norwegian if they want to send a big ship to New Orleans again?

Maybe Dream to the West Coast and Vista 3 replacing her in New Orleans?

Or what if Triumph replaces Glory in Miami, could we see the following line up in New Orleans?

    - Carnival Vista 3

    - Carnival Dream

    - Carnival Glory

    Or is that to much?😂

Anyway, there is a lot to speculate about and I was wondering what your thoughts and speculating look like.

  5. The WiFi on Vista is pretty poor to be honest. We had the highest package and at some days you couldn't even upload pictures to Facebook. The only time I was succesful with FaceTime was in port in Cozumel when a lot of passengers were in port. But in Jamaica for example it was horrible.

But we never had any problems chatting via internet.

    Hope this helps

  6. Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows they broadcast Football ( soccer ) at the Sports bar at Carnival Vista. August 8th Manchester United and Real Madrid will play eachother for the UEFA Super Cup and I'm really eager to see the match.

It will start at around 1:45pm.

    Thanks in advance

  7. Good morning,

I read that Carnival will be debuting her new ship and sailing through Europe in 2018...Does anyone know when the sailings will be released? I tried a search but couldn't find anything.

    thanks,

Could be any day right now, we've been waiting for way to long.

  8. So the working name of the 180k Class has been since nearly the beginning the "XL" class. I'm wondering if what we are seeing played out is similar to the old school game of telephone? XL pronounced similar to Excel...

Also wondering if that model really is the new 180k - or simply a 3rd Vista class ship with a new livery that we might see come to all the ships in the future?

It is definitely not a Vista class and this model looks the earlier renderings they released of the new ships.
