P&O did one with Mary Berry last year if I recall correctly?
MSC do regular British Isles cruises and they're often very reasonably priced compared to the other lines

Hi yes each time you buy it's like an individual transaction so you can buy any package for a 24 hour period. Also you can upgrade it so say you have brought the smallest package and wish you'd got a larger one you can pay the difference - but it only lasts for the remainder of that 24 hour purchase.

Awesome. Thank you.

Do you know if you can move between packages?
Say I start with the middle package but decide one day I want to do a live broadcast on Facebook, can I go up to the top package for 24 hours, returning to the middle package in the next 24 hour period?

Oh that's cool. So I don't have to buy a 10 day package for a 10 day cruise? I can buy 24 hours as an when I want to? Awesome

We've always got our allocation on saver 2 weeks before.
How do you print your luggage tags if your cabin isn't allocated until you arrive at the port?

Jasperado - hey there fellow islander! We're in exactly the same mindset as you that Soton is SO easy!
I want to do Oceana in Venice next month, but then I just think 'ugh' at the effort of flying! [emoji3]

James Taylor is a very famous singer/songwriter. (Although we hadn't heard of him until we found he was going to be on our cruise either. When we mentioned it to our friends, it seemed we were the only ones who didn't know him!)

We have just booked with Staysure too. I found them when searching for "disabled cruise insurance"
£68 for couples insurance, 10 day cruise with 4 named pre existing conditions
It would have been £30 without the conditions

When we did P&O before, we found that they close bookings for shore excursions 72 hours before the trip
That was our first cruise, and we weren't bothered about the trips so it wasn't an issue
But if any of your shore trips happen within the first 2-3 days of your cruise, and you want to do the ship excursion, then I would book before you go

I think it will be one of those things that don't seem appealing until you get on the boat, and get drawn into the buzz around him being on the ship
We were on QM2 with James Taylor last year, and you couldn't speak to anyone without his name coming up - staff included
It's pretty intoxicating, even if you weren't particularly excited before the trip

One thing we enjoy on P&O is being able to check in, then go straight for lunch before unpacking in the afternoon
I've not been on Fred but heard that they don't serve lunch on embarkation day. Is that correct?

Haha! Orange socks! Trendsetter
We've just booked onto Oriana for a couple of weeks time, and very excited. Oceana was our first cruise in April last year, then we did QM2 in August
There were lots of buckets collecting water in the cabin areas in QM2. It's a universal issue

It would be suds law if there was a laundry party while you were there now, eh?!

Got cruise insurance?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
No, didn't insure this one as only 3 days
But I called RC and explained, and they agreed to us transferring to an alternative. We're now booked onto a 7 day caribbean in Feb!
They would have been totally within their rights to have told me to do one, but I'm so impressed with how they've responded. Big kudos to RC - above and beyond
And the best bit, we were booked into a Junior Suite, so I figured we'd probably need to downgrade to balcony to make it fit
But for whatever reason, the suite was priced lower than the balconies. So we keep our suite too! :-)

Just had the same email for Independence for the 3 night Paris/Bruges on Saturday
I'm immuno suppressed and have to visit the hospital several times a week
Do you think RCI would let me postpone? It's such a big risk for me when they already know it's an issue before I get on

I saw QM2 Princess Grill for the Jan 2015 24 day Soton to Dubai trip at £2.9k with flights and hotel on a TA site
Which seem to be £6.5k on Cunard
It's the first leg of the WC and clearly they're doing the same thing here.
Was very tempting but I'm holding out for the April QE

They also offer coffee and a mock tail menu, but you're never pressured to buy if you don't want to

It's also pretty breezy so even on a 'warm' day, expect the wind chill to take the temp down quite a bit
We did a TA from UK to NY and back on Cunard in August which is "height of uk summer" but there were only 3 days we weren't cold outside - and they were when we were in the vicinity of NY

Nope. And you won't hear a word the captain says either. The ships don't cater for hard of hearing well unfortunately

In 2015 (July) there is an eastbound with a 5 day NY/Halifax/Bolton/NY cruise before the westbound return
That itiniary might be available in 2016 too

As an alternative to the new forest, consider getting a ferry (5 minutes from where qm2 docks) across to the Isle of Wight - the most beautiful part of the uk :-)

Ha. Loved reading the comments here - you're funny!
I've done some research online, so will see how the on board prices compare - as the $ converts positively to £
Not long now! :-)

Happy Girl, I take it you're from Iowa? If so, you might want to do a bit of comparison shopping in NY if that is your port of call. -S.
Hey Salacia, I'm so British I hadn't even considered that IOW would be mistaken for Iowa. I'm LOL'ing at myself here in the middle of a packed cafe - and getting some strange looks ;-)
IOW (in my world) is Isle of Wight - a baby sized island just off the coast of Southampton - about 22sq miles of gorgeous villages
And probably a place the size of an ant compared to Iowa :-)
Thank you all for your input/tips/feedback too
I have wanted a rolex since I wanted; to live on this island and own an Xr3i (1980's) and I have wanted to do the QM2 TA from around a similar point in my life (we actually booked a WB TA for our honeymoon but cancelled it and went to the Caribbean instead (long story!)
So, We moved to this island last year, I had the xr3i in the late 90's and we're doing the QM2 in a few weeks.
The final part of this is the watch, which I've always said I can only buy when I reach a certain financial goal in my business - as my reward. And now I have
So I was thinking it would be really cool to buy the watch on board QM2. We're doing the NY shore excursion so won't be able to shop in NY anyway.
I'll research Tag and Chopard styles, and see what I think. Tbh I've never actually seen a real rolex up close, so don't even know if push came to shove that I'd want to spend $$$$ on Rolex - Tag might even be more my style
Sorry, that turned out to be an essay in the end :-)
Still giggling too! :P

I used my iPhone with my email accounts set up in the iPhone email app. Perhaps get your accounts set up there before you go? Opened attachments fine too (I was using the £12.50 level if that matters)
