  1. I will probably be unpopular for this post, but I just want to put it out there.

Yes, the cost for their case of bottle water is a great deal, but not all bottled water is the same. I was excited to buy a case last cruise and not bring one on, but was only able to stomach drinking 2 bottles because I was desperate in my cabin. Their purified water had such a bad taste to it, I ended up just giving away the case. At home we buy natural spring water.

But I will say that the drinking water in the dining room and lido decks is good, and I have no problems drinking that. its just more of a pain when your in your cabin at night and get thirsty.

  2. If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is not true.

people who get those free cruises pay for them in the casino.

It is good business to get them back on board. a win win

they don't just hand them out because they like you

I don't think that is totally true. I am currently booked on my 2nd free casino cruise. I am going in October. I received the same offer last year, free interior room, just pay port taxes, but I hadn't been on a cruise in 5 years prior to getting the offer last year, and have never spent more than about $150 in the casino. I can't explain why Carnival sends me these offers, but as long as they do, and I can make it work with my schedule, I am going to continue to utilize them.

  3. I didn't find anything wrong with the ship in August when we sailed on the Victory. We had an amazing time! Yes, the ship is a little older, and we got a chuckle out of the pink bathrooms, but after the first day, who cares, you are cruising!! It is still a beautiful ship, and it had lots of energy and fun when we were on it. I wouldn't hesitate to sail on the Victory again!

  4. My son just did it with the 12-14 year old group and he had a blast. One of the things they were to do was to find out the Captains name, so they went up to a Carnival Employee they saw and asked what the Captain's name was, and they were told Captain Morgan. The kids knew that wasn't the right answer, but everyone got a good laugh out of it.

  5. We were just on the Victory just over 3 weeks ago. Is it a little older, yes, but it is still beautiful. Just as with anything, if you look close enough, you will find little things, but we were so busy having an amazing time that we didn't even notice. Honestly, other than some small area inside the forward elevators where the covering was coming off, I don't remember any problems. Our room was great, the staff was wonderful. I would sail on her again next week if I could.

  6. We just got off the Victory last week also, but we absolutely loved FTTF. We got to the port a little later than we wanted, just about noon, and the lines were snaked around the bottom. After about 4 minutes we got to the door, showed our FTTF boarding passes, and they opened the priority line with no one in it. We were checked in within 5 minutes. Then upstairs, the lines were again long to get your S&S cards, but we were escorted to a different line, again with no one in it, got our cards and were on the boat, with a drink in our hands, in our cabins by 12:30. (the doors were open, so it looked like everyone could go to their cabins) All luggage arrived by 1:30. We didn't use the priority tendering because we had a Carnival excursion booked in Grand Cayman, but did use the priority line at GS. The regular line always had people in it, but the priority line never did. I wouldn't hesitate to get FTTF again on our next cruise, if it is available.

  7. I was not happy at all with the Circle C group (12-14). My son, 12, really liked it at first. But the staff had no control or even any idea of what was going on inside their room. One night he left the club with his older cousin (24) to play some mini golf because he didn't like what was going on in the club, the staff couldn't even tell me if he had been there (even though he was there for a couple hours playing games).

On day 3 when a group of 5-6 kids were doing things they shouldn't have been doing (throwing ice cream, hanging on the Serenity deck about 9 pm, and roaming the decks knocking on doors) my son came and hung out with family because he didn't want to be a part of any of that. Then the next day he was told by the kids that he couldn't do the scavenger hunt with them because they didn't like him anymore and the staff said/did nothing. So he left Circle C, never to go back, and had fun with his older brothers and cousin. He did miss hanging out with a couple of the kids, but it wasn't worth the hassle of the few trouble makers running the show.

  8. It sounds like you are a little worried about Hurricane season? The dates you list are towards the end of it, so you shouldn't have too much to worry about. The peak for storms is around Labor day. We have cruised a couple of times in the first week of November and never had anything but beautiful and warm weather. No problems at any of the ports.

  9. Checking the website this morning, I noticed that two of our cabins had price reductions. They are booked ES and I am going to call in a few minutes to get the reduced fares. It is after our final payment so I believe we will get OBC for this price drop. My question is that in one cabin are my two sons and nephew. They are all adult men, each with their own S&S accounts set up. When they apply the OBC, will they split it between the three or will it just go to one of them? How do they work it?

  10. I have already purchased a birthday cake for our August cruise, and it let me choose what to say on the cake, and when and where to deliver it. It could go to the cabin or main dining room, and I could pick which day to have it delivered. That way I can surprise the birthday boy and not have him wonder what I am doing on the ship.
