Trying to minimize the frustration this weekend at departure. Rather than drive through and drop off luggage, can we just go ahead and park in the deck and roll our luggage from the car to a porter? Also coming from south of the terminal ( I10 ) is the entrance to the deck before the deck or after on Water St?

We have a 10:00 - 10:30 time but I don't plan on getting there until 10:30 at the earliest. Thanks!

We use credit cards for everything, it's all about the mileage. What is a "hold" I never noticed anything different on my account. I was not informed by Capital One about a hold.

You may never notice since it doesn't show on a statement. When you back your account with a CC , carnival will put a soft hold on a certain amount of money to make sure your good for it. Even though it drops off it will count toward your CC limit at the time the hold is placed. This is why I think its such a bad idea to use debit cards for this purpose since its "real" money they are holding and not just "electronic" money.

This is not just a Carnival thing by the way , hotels do it as well.

Can you secure your account with a credit card and then add gift cards while onboard? Also if you can how do you make sure they use the credit you have on the account from the gift cards BEFORE they use the card?

This may be worth a phone call to your doctor or pharmacist.MOST forms of insulin now can be stored at room temps once they have been opened/in use.I have been keeping my vials , once opened , at room temp for some time now with no issues. I am on Novalog though and you may not be.

Not trying to be a know it all. Some people are unaware of this and knowing this has made my travel life MUCH easier!

P.S. I still use it as an excuse to carry on a hard sided cooler and get ice whenever I want it :)

Do you really think something will go wrong in the next 13 days? I wouldn't even bother unless you have a sick family member that may pass.

Dont forget that most trip insurance policies also have a medical rider. This may be the OP primary concern.

If you don't mind me asking , what did you pay for?

We booked a couple of weeks ago with just a deposit. So I made the payment to our outstanding balance. It looks like it worked, because I received an email from AMEX saying thanks. I guess I will just have to wait and see.

 

As far as buying excursions I'm not sure that would work. Maybe prepaying tips, but I'm not sure.

According to the AMEX rep as long as its for a booking your fine . She didnt say it had to be new one. Just not an "onboard expense".

Well just finished chatting with AMEX. The rep i chatted with with says its only for bookings so sounds like a no go for prepaying for anything for a cruise already booked.
