Looking for recommendations for a few ports. Should I stay in the port city or head out to neighboring areas to see more.  This is a 9 day cruise with no sea days…BUSY.

Sorry to say, but I just got off the Silhouette today and I thought the food was some of the worst food I have ever had on any cruise. However I found the waitstaff in general to be very polite, friendly, and ready to serve. I believe the Specialty dining and Aqua class are Celebrity's way to serve better food. The only decent food I tasted for 12 days was at Sushi on 5 and Murano. Those were the only restaurants I tried. I am a huge lover of all kinds of potatoes and they were so bad everywhere, I never ate more than a taste. And that says a lot. The buffet just repeats itself everyday. I can honestly say I am pretty sure I lost weight on this cruise.

I was there on the same cruise in 2015 and we did SPB for most ports, but used berlinjewish.com. We had an absolutely fantastic walking tour of Berlin and it was my family of four. He helped me get the driver and that was seamless. I highly recommend going to Berlin if you have never been. The excitement of European cruising is seeing as much as possible. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

I just got off the Royal and would have to say that other than a few meals/items, the food was poor. I would question how they served some of it. The buffet was awful, MDR had a few items that were ok. Many things had no flavor, we're not hot, and seemed to be diluted.

Crown Grill was excellent though.

Definitely go into the Colosseum. It is very cool and if you are able go up the stairs to the second level. Yes you do need coverage for the Vatican. Ask them the current rules about that though. Rome is a crazy day, but they get it done. I have no idea why it is so difficult to find this group. Are you on the Epic? That was our exact trip.....enjoy! !

I have used Can't Be Missed Tours for Amalfi Coast and Rome from Civitevecchia and they are very affordable and amazing tour guides and drivers. I read about this group in a Rick Steves book on Mediterranean Cruises and his suggestion was spot on. Give them a try, you will not be disappointed.

I just got off the Epic and can answer a few of your questions. The dress code is very relaxed. People wear everything. The Manhattan Room is clearly more formal than Taste, however it is truly a big mix. I think I would have felt out of place going too casual to Manhattan, but that does not mean it did not happen.

I can not really answer your questions about the slides and water area because we really did not have much opportunity to utilize those areas. It was a bit chilly by the time we were back on the ship.

As for Pompeii, check out Can't Be Missed tours. Very affordable and really excellent tour guides. They are at the ship, you board a bus and go to the Amalfi coast to Positano and Sorento and then back to Pompeii. They take you in Pompeii and give you a tour of all of the highlights. I can't say enough great things about the tour. if you want more details, feel free to message me. I also used them in Rome.

I just got off of the Epic and had a fabulous time. We got on in Barcelona and I believe we left our laundry on the bed the morning we got off the ship in Rome. I would think when you board,if it is not too late, you could get a bag, however you probably will not get it back until Saturday.
