someone asked when can you start wearing white pants again... in Canada it is after Victoria Day in May... I imagine in the United States it is after Memorial Day (also in May) ;-)

We were on Century in May and there was no music on deck during our amazing time at the Hubbard Glacier... you could hear the oohs and ahhhs as the glacier calved - it was the highlight of the whole trip and I would have complained too if there had been canned music!

Thank you both... unfortunately there are now no equivalent cabins elsewhere so we may have to put up with the smoke - hopefully there won't be many smokers on the cruise or the wind will blow it the other way.

Hello everyone,
We are booked in cabin 7241 on Equinox next year Med cruise... I checked the information on cabins and found this description:
"This cabin is just above (and 2 cabins over) from the smoking section. When people were not there smoking, it was fine (maybe a little residual smell in the air), but when people were there smoking it was AWFUL!!! Not only do you have the constant smell of smoke, the people were loud (you could not hear them if you were in the cabin with the door shut, just while on the balcony). This really affected our use of the balcony. However, if the smoking doesn't bother you, then this is a great cabin (large balcony) with a great location (close to mid-ship elevators/stairs). Photos in Post 1351 crazygirl"
I went back to my travel agent asking about changing cabins because of the smoke issue... but she tells me there is no outdoor smoking area near us on this ship and looking at the deck plans for Equinox I think she may be right.
Anyone know for sure?
thank you

We are really new to cruising - just completed the first one to Alaska in May... but keep hearing about travel agent OBC... we have booked a second cruise and no one has ever said anything about a TA OBC... do all TA do this? do I need to ask? do I need to change my TA?

It used to be that you could buy antibiotics in Mexico without a prescription... that has changed - you need to see a doctor who will prescribe antibiotics for you.

we are going on our first cruise... how do I know if we have a connecting cabin?? thank you!

Thank you all - really appreciate the responses...ok looks like I won't be packing "light" - I'd rather be comfortable so we can go out and enjoy the scenery... thanx

We will be on the Century May 18th - May 25th... I have been checking temperatures for Juneau and they range from 39 degrees F to 59 degrees F... is it windy on the decks/balconies? should we bring along our warmer jackets or will a lightweight jacket with assorted sweaters work when outdoors? (On another note, is it even possible to use the pool at this time of year on an Alaska cruise?)
Seem like stupid questions even to me... but have never been on a cruise, much less to Alaska.
thank you

unfortunately it is not a Celebrity tour... it is Pacific Coast bus to Victoria for 2 nights post cruise... hopefully we will be able to arrange to get off in good time for the 11:00 am departure...
good advice re embarkation, we will plan to be there around noon to let the "rooster" types get through first
thank you for your reply

I posted this on "Ask a Question" - someone thought it might be better posted here...
We are on the Celebrity Century leaving May 18th - check in time is between 11 and 3... it is our very first cruise... should we be there right at 11? Will it be a 2 hour process? Once the cruise is over we have booked a tour with bus pick up at 11 am at the pier - what is the process for getting off? What do you recommend to be at the bus bay at 10:30 am?
thank you for your help

We are going on our very first cruise ever and have no idea about the "protocol"... our trip includes gratutities and beverage package on the Celebrity Century to Alaska. So do we still tip in cash upon arrival of room service - say tea and toast in the morning? Thank you!
Oasis 3/22-29/14, so, so writing, pretty good pictures, very pretty girls!

I just "searched" Oasis and this was the first thing that came up... what luck!! Your review and photos were all wonderful and very much convinced me that we need to try that mega ship! Would also love to have the details for your TA (mexfillier@yahoo.ca).
Thank you again for taking the time to post all the wonderful photos... love the black and white one - love them all!!!
