  1. We arrive in Rome at 9:00 am from U.S., will be take n to hotel to checkin

and then have the rest of the day for touring. This will be on Sunday. Would you recommend booking a private tour or just taking taxi to major sites? Want to see Colosseum and Forum for sure. What else should we see? Read that Vatican City is not open on Sundays.

  2. I read somewhere that there was an early morning (7:30 am) tour to the Sistine Chapel. Does anyone know about this? Also, if you buy tickets in advance, do you still have to wait hours in line to see it? We are on a very strict time limit on a Monday morning and wanted to know if that was possible to do...and would like to see the Basilica.

  3. Thanks! I appreciate your input. Yes, it is Tunis. We have booked a ship excursion to some of the ruins, I believe. I don't really care to go shopping and I heard that the shopkeepers can be quite demanding and persistent. I don't feel comfortable dealing with them. And I wasn't really comfortable booking a private tour either.

  4. Our cruise ship comes into Naples and we don't disembark until 1:00 p.m. We will then be taken to our hotel to check-in. Would we still have time to go to Capri? We do not have to be back to Naples at a certain time.

  5. We are going on a cruise in Sept and have booked a private tour. We had the option of going to Taormina and Castelmola or going to Taormina and "The godfather village", the town of Savoca. We chose the 2nd option, but I think we can change it. Does anyone recommend one more than the other?
