  1. We're trying to decide between the two ships during Mardi gras next year. We will have a 6 year old and 3 year old with us so I'm a little hesitant with the 7 day cruise, since this will be our first time cruising.. BUT I realllly want a cove balcony! So... Opinions between the 2.

  2. My Granny called me very excited over the weekend and said she received one in the mail. I told her to throw it away it must be a scam!! OOPS!! Are these transferable? She has only been on 1 cruise and that was with someone else... so I'm wondering if she decides to go, does she have to have a guest..or can she even give it away if she doesn't want to go.

  3. Wow! Thanks everyone. Very useful information! I, too, think that we will do our own thing and not book with Carnival for excursions this time around. Since it is our first cruise, and it's 7 days, I don't know how the kids (6 and 3) are going to handle it. I would rather just wing it and they would probably be just as happy playing in the sand somewhere. The only excursion that caught my attention is the dolphin swim, I think my 6 year old would LOVE it! Also a newbie question... while in port.. does the ship stay by to where you can get on and off throughout the day, while in port?

  4. My family of 4 will be going on a Western Caribbean cruise on the Carnival Dream for MG2015, our first cruise!

Besides the expenses of the ship and gratuities (that we will pre pay). How much should I plan on spending onboard and on excursions? We won't need a soda card or the bubbles card. We drink tea and water. So what else would be an expense on board that we would end up spending money on?

For excursions, we've looked at doing the dolphin swim tours so I know that pricing. Just curious about what others have spent and what I can realistically plan to spend on food and fun.

    Thanks!

  5. HEY! I'm excited about my first cruise! We will have a shipboard wedding on the carnival Elation and then sailing! We will have our 6 year old and 3 year old with us. I need tips! What are must haves to bring and what are must do's? What cabins are good to stay in for noise reduction and close to everything (since the little ones get tired of walking). I'm looking at the OV rooms right now. Also, I've noticed on Carnival's website that some of the rooms say category 2 upgrade. What does this mean? It shows a fun select or early saver option.THANKS!!
