Seeing the lights is very weather dependant. On a land based holiday in Tromso we went out 2 nights on the trot, it was snowing a blizzard both nights as we left Tromso and we're driven in land , on the first night for about 2 hours before we saw them. On the second night we finished up on the Finnish border the weather cleared for about half an hour then closed in again. We got back to the hotel about 3 am. That was in March 2013. Would we go searching again for the Northern Lights? Most definitely YES.

Flew with Thomson to Crete in September from Manchester and they were very strict on both hold and hand baggage weights.

Hi Carolynne15, setting off to Manchester airport in two and a half hours, booked on Thomson 767 to Crete so we shall see what it's like.

Hi Carolynne 15 if you use blodders70 link I think you should find Birmingham on 7th is Dreamliner and we are from Manchester on 7th and we have 767. But don't take my word as gospel.

Hi ZTE we fly month after at same time and it's with Thomson. We had a confirmation email a few weeks ago. It should be on your cruise personaliser under before you go then flights I think. Ian

Had an email from P and O today, heart skipped a beat , had the Upgrade Fairy come early, alas no, just confirmation of an Itinerary change, ah well still lots of time to go.

We got our flight documents for Feb yesterday and they are saying 4 hrs before for checkin.

Does anyone know what type and the quality of the toiletries used onboard the Azura. We are on a fly cruise in Feb and need to save as much weight as possible. Many thanks in anticipation.

I thought Thomsons only used 767 and Dreamliners for long haul. Reading various websites they have 5 767s and will have 6 Dreamliners anytime now but as you say till the seat plan comes out things could change. When I swopped from Thomas Cook to Thomsons I asked if it was Dreamliner but P and O lady said she did not have that information.

Quick query how do you know its a Dreamliner or are all Thomson flights on it?

Regarding 4 hour check in. P and O website says checkin opens 4 hours before flight and that there is a health questionnaire to fill in , so that will delay the process no doubt, especially when you multiply by number of passengers on multi planes

We are also on a Manchester flight with TC in November but never given an option to select another carrier. We have been given 4 hour check in time at Manchester, completely mad.

I was looking through the FAQs on P and O website and it says non European checkins open 4 hrs before departure. I also read somewhere that there is a health questionnaire to fill in at checkin so that is possibily why they open 4 hrs before. Found it if you click how can we help , then flights it is the second one down in the question " Can I check in the night before"

Thanks to your post I have been in contact with P and O and they have switched us onto a Thomson flight which is 2hrs later so that will be even better on a February morning. Sorry you didn't have any luck. Once again thanks for putting the idea into my head.

Perhaps TC want you to help get the plane ready (LOL). It does seem a bit early. 3 hours for Transatlantic is more the norm I would say.

Hi Old tilly billy. We have been given flight times for Feb 2015 with TC of 09.05 depart Manchester but not checkin times as yet. How does this compare with yours.

We are going to Caribbean on 7/2/15 and we too are booked on Thomas Cook with23Kg. Would be interested to see if there is another flight that day too.

Hi, it is best to use the theory of layering i.e. base mid and top. Make sure the top layer is windproof and waterproof. You will probably find you can have all 4 seasons in the space of a couple of hours. Whatever the weather I hope you enjoy.

We have just booked D732 on the Azura for February, would be interested to hear how you like it.
