  1. Need to give kudos to NCL for something they did yesterday. I wanted to redeem some World Points for OBC for our upcoming cruise. It's 30 days out and I was a bit concerned whether we had enough time or not. The woman did it over the phone, sent me a verification email, and told me to contact my TA to verify it was attached to our reservation. I did and he wrote right back saying it's there! Amazing!! I've never seen NCL be so proficient at anything!! WOW!! WTG, NCL!

  2. Thanks so much for responding. No, we only got what we'd paid in cash back, not the amount of the certificates. I was hoping they WOULD pay us back the $$ from the certs to make rebooking easier but they didn't. They also gave us 40% in credits I think it was of the price of the cruise b/c of being inconvenienced from the cruise being cancelled.

     

    I think I am going to do that - try to book a cruise using that 40% credit we have (I've verified that that is indeed there) as a deposit and then see if that man can indeed help us out.

     

    I'll do it early next week and I'll post back. Thanks again!

  3. I have a dilemma and I really need some advice. It's a long, long story but here's the quick version:

     

    - Booked 2 week cruise on NCL ship last November 29th out of Miami.

     

    - Used $1500 worth of Compass Rewards coupons towards this cruise

     

    - Drove all the way from TX to FL when we got a phone call saying the ship had broken down and the cruise was cancelled!!

     

    - Got our $ back plus another % towards a future cruise - received both of these

     

    - Asked travel agent (not NCL) about the $1500. He said he didn't know but thought they were probably linked to our booking number.

     

    - Over the months, have called NCL and BofA no less than 10 times to try to get an answer about the $1500. Keep getting the runaround, different people, blah blah blah - different answers, noone knows, etc.

     

    - Today I called the reservations dept at NCL. They said we've lost the $1500 bc the program has ended. I would understand this if WE had cancelled the cruise but THEY cancelled it b/c their ship broke down!! They DID say to book another cruise and then call back and they'd see what they could do!!

     

    - We NEVER received any communication from NCL or BofA concerning those certificates - saying to rebook within a certain time or lose them, etc.

     

    - I'm so mad!! Help! Anyone else have this experience? What happened? What would you do? Who would you call? Any ideas? Thanks so much!!
