  1. As part of the cruise expo the local radio station is running a competition.

The prize is a $3000 credit with P and O, that can be used on any cruise the winner wants to do.

Well, they are running the comp for 5 days this week and I am one of the lucky five that may win the prize.

Looking forward to the phone call from 4bc friday mid afternoon, fingers crossed.

    Cheers

  2. I think this is the first time Pacific Jewel has been to Apia and this is the first time P&O have been to Apia for a very long time....

We where meant to go Apia on the Pacific Pearl in 2011 on the Tahitian Treasures cruise, but because it was going to be a Sunday there, northing would be open, so we instead spent an extra day at another port.

A private charter, that explains why she has been in Apia for a few days.

    Thanks for the info.

  3. Not cruising on a cruise line because you can't bring water on board is pretty petty too I think.

There are bigger things to care about than water, just fill a drink bottle on the ship.

The quote was more for the P and O trolls who follow these forums.

Real men drink beer not water...........lol

  4. I agree, water is a freely available resourse so I don't understand the ban.

Luckily we are cruising from the 25 october so this this will not effect us. However because of the new regulations we may chose not to cruise P an O again.

I just think it is a bit petty.

    Cheers

Edit: I wonder if cask water is included in this new ban, it is not listed in the notice.

  5. stopping people bring on bottles of water is a bit rough, they only want you to buy their water onboard....they must be the only cruise line that would do that

  6. The short answer is yes, they normally get a commission or bonus from the places they visit if they are a commercial type business.

They will also take you to tourist type places with no commissions, generally speaking they will ask you what variations you want to see.

Their time is their own so you are really just paying for the taxi ride with local knowledge.

    Hope this helps.
