  1. I looked at the water park and it looks really neat, I can't say I've ever seen anything like it before. Now I gotta talk my wife into going there instead of Pigeon Island.

Is it safe to say the beach there is packed most days?

  2. This is the second time we'll be visiting St Lucia, the first time we went on Cosol's tour and had a good time. We found Pigeon Island as a possibility for this stop, funny name as it doesn't appear to actually be an island. We'll be traveling this time with our 8 year old daughter. After looking at pictures of the park I'm afraid she'll get bored as there reall don't seem to be a lot of activities there and very little in the way of beach fun. So should we go or skip? St. Lucia seems to be a very hard place to plan for as there aren't many beaches.

  3. So is going to Palm beach a safer bet to avoid some of the crowds and cater more to the cruise ship crowd or is Eagle beach a lot nicer. Sorry for all the questions I'm still just not certain on where we should get dropped off at. It would be nice to get some shade or we might not last that long in the Caribbean sun.

  4. So just tell the taxi driver to take us to the public access at eagle beach and he'll get us there? So are there any bars actually on the beach open to the public? I love the little straw beach bars on other islands you just walk up to and grab a local beer. I definitely want to rent an umbrella as we burn pretty easy especially in the Caribbean sun.

  5. We are planning on just taking a taxi to eagle beach but don't know where we should ask to be dropped off. I'd prefer somewhere I can rent chairs and an umbrella. A beach bar with food at a moderate cost would be nice as well. I heard taxi fare to eagle is only about $10, that sound about right.

  6. Thanks for the great info! So we will plan to negotiate a taxi to take us to the cave and wait while we're there then drop us off at Chavon where we can take our time and get something to eat. Since you know the area what do you think a decent price would be for this?

How much more would you guess if they wait for us at Altos also and take us back to the pier? Thanks again.

  7. We going to be in La Romana in about 2 weeks on a Carnival cruise from 9am to 4pm and would like to do the cave (La Cueva Da Las Maravillas) and the town Altos De Chavon. Should we just get a taxi at the taxi stand at the pier. What I'm not sure about is should we just get just try and get 3 separate taxis for each leg of the trip we need to go somewhere? I'm having a hard time finding out how far apart the 3 places are. I don't want to pay a taxi to wait on us if we don't have to but can if its necessary.
