Waiting with bated breath for itineraries to be released! I've been saving all year so I can book immediately. Hoped for Mediterranean but after looking at Baltic ports, that might be nice too!

This is a good way to keep track of where someone is :p :p
Real-time updates?? This would make it soo easy to find my DS. Then again, it's a safe bet he'll be in the arcade! :D

For our past cruises, if I entered my wife's folio number, it showed every time she used her card. If I entered my folio number, it showed when I used my card plus her useage. Freaked me out at first until I realized that both of our spending was under my folio because the cabin was booked under my name, my card.
That would've freaked me out! Thanks for the heads up on that!!

Each s&s card has a different folio number , you can get a print out of your account and track the spending that way.
Thanks! Its been so long since our last cruise I couldn't remember! !

Don't wait. We set limits for our kids when we sent up the onboard account online.
Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
How is that done? I set up our account online with a CC and was only given the option to either allow charging or not allow it to each card.

I searched the forums but couldnt find an answer. We're leaving next Saturday on the Sunshine with our kids age 8 & 12. They received some Carnival GC's for Christmas that we are going to apply to the S&S account for their spending
I understand that I can go to the service desk and set spending limits on each card, but what I'm wondering is if the final bill will show a break down of how much was spent on each card or if it will generalize all spending?
Thanks!

We'll be cruising in 5342 in Jan 2015. Photos would be appreciated from those who've stayed in that cabin! Thanks!

More pictures please! I need to find my go-to drink for our Sunshine cruise!

You folks have it lucky! Bringing liquor back into Canada is subject to steep Border Levies of $15-$20 per bottle on top of Import duty and taxes. While it still works out to be less than the astronomical prices of beer and liquor in Ontario I lose the "I got a great deal!" bragging rights. Boooo!
:(

Is the next higher category the same price you're paying or less? You can also try this reasoning in getting a price drop.
I've never looked at that as an option. What categories are up from that? Just suites?
-
No price drops have happened yet. I just wondered if it was even worth me continuing to check if 8M's were only available for 2 passenger rooms. As I said, I'm not expecting any price drops but wouldn't decline any that came my way!
-
I see lots of questions about price drops & OBC but haven't been able to find a thread that answers my question. So, here goes...
We're sailing on the Sunshine in an Aft-extended next January and our category 8M is sold out for 4 passengers. However, it does show 8M as an available option on the Fare Viewer for 2 passengers.
Would we be eligible for OBC if a price drop were to occur because the category itself is still available?
Please, no flaming. I realize I booked a small and specific category that sells out quickly and we booked it knowing and accepting the cost for what it was. However, if there is an opportunity for some OBC I wouldn't object to it.
Thanks!

You may also want to check with CAA if you are a member, or your major credit card (I use MC).
I sometimes think I should get CAA just for all the retail and travel perks! :p
TBH, I have never been able to justify the purchase of a CAA membership - DH is a mechanic, I work in tire sales, we're both very tight knit with many in the automotive community in Central Ontario. They're poor excuses though, especially when we're road-trippers.
I probably should get CAA! lol

I have a rider on my house insurance for trip insurance. Manulife. It cost us $106 a year good for 30 days out of country, renews after stepping foot in Canada for 30 minutes for another 30 days. Great for day trips to the USA for shopping or dinner. Covers everyone who lives in the house. It gives great coverage and i don't have to think about travel insurance for the year. It is a very reasonable cost. Check your house insurance to see if you can get it. I live 20 minutes from the boarder so it is great for those day trips.
Great tip! I would've never thought to look through our home insurance. We live about 2hrs from the border but we cross every few months for weekend trips to Buffalo and Erie. TBH, I've never considered that we should be insured even when we do road trips. We have medical coverage through our employer health benefits but nothing else for those trips.
I will check that out!

Thank you for the info! I've just finished pricing on Travel Safe based on the suggestion and I'm incredibly surprised at how little it actually is for that insurance. I'm certain that the Carnival Insurance was more money!
Just to be clear; when I am inputting our traveller names/ages/trip cost, am I taking the travel costs and dividing it between the number of travellers?
-
Just like the title says, I am looking for the best value in travel insurance for our cruise in Jan 2015. This is our second cruise; our first cruise was 7 years ago when we were young, stupid and reckless and knew nothing about the necessity for travel insurance.
Our PVP of course tried to sell us on the Carnival travel insurance which we have declined after reading many negatives about it on the CC forums. We want to purchase a decent travel insurance package that wont cost an arm and a leg for our family of 4. I don't have the first clue where to look as we've never purchased travel insurance before and I'm not sure if some of the names I've seen mentioned on CC are exclusive to US citizens.
Thank you in advance for your help! :D

I love this review! It is so well-written and captivating! Please keep it coming! I cannot wait for my Sunshine cruise in January!
Early Curacao port time - what to do?
in Curacao
Posted
Cruising on the NCL Epic in February 2020 and our port time in Curacao has been cut to 6am-12:30pm. NCL is offering no shore excursions and we're at a loss for what to do in port this early.
Looking for suggestions or recommendations from those familiar with the port or who have been to Curacao this early in the AM.
Thank you!
