  1. I made a recent booking within final payment due date.  I did not request transfers, I never do. Once e-mail confirmation received, I discovered that transfer - to the ship only - was added to the booking for one passenger.  I contacted Princess, and was told the charge would be removed.  Their mistake, so I assumed it would be refunded to my CC.  Wrong assumption, it appeared as an onboard credit instead.

  2. Glad I found this topic.  Have sailed with primarily Princess since 2015 and had never heard of “Princess Promotions”, until recently when this guy started emailing me and leaving voice mails saying he was my new Princess CVP. I was initially suspicious.  Finally chatted with him for almost an hour…realized he was legit, but didn’t  get the jest of the “Promo” until almost end of conversation.

Once he realized most of my sailings now are Princess Casino Offers and that I prefer Marriotts…he couldn’t get off the phone fast enough.

  3. Kaiiak: When sailing on a Princess Royal Class Ship, I always purchase a pass for the Thermal Suite (Enclave). Have never been able to purchase in advance…

Spa staff are typically set up in the Piazza or nearby at boarding promoting passes, treatments, etc.  Or you can go directly to the Spa and they’ll be eager to give you a tour of the spa facilities & make appointments, sell passes, etc.

    Happy cruising!

  4. Never thought I’d enjoy sailing a HAL cruise. Heard it might be too subdued for my tastes. Took advantage of a drop & go offer on Rotterdam VII…loved it!!!  LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT IT…The ship itself and all public areas were gorgeous.  I loved my cabin (especially that huge glass enclosed shower).  Best food ever on a cruise ship (great-no matter where you ate); entertainment was awesome (especially for music lovers). The crew were outstanding, especially the captain! I especially enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere.  Didn’t miss the amusement rides, raucous deck parties or loud & intrusive poolside bands one bit.  This was cruising for grown ups and I liked it…can’t wait til my next sailing with HAL.

  5. A good word for Majestic Princess. Sailed Majestic Princess to Alaska in May. I booked very last minute and didn’t have time to research the ship like I usually do.  Ended up very pleasantly surprised, in spite of the “quirks” mentioned that make her slightly different than Regal/Royal.  The Observation Lounge was a large, beautifully decorated area, far forward - in area where the Sanctuary would normally be on Royal Class Ships. It was mostly quiet and great for viewing scenery, with its floor to ceiling glass windows and cozy, private nooks.  No other Princess Ships (that I know of) offers any such space. The nearby Hollywood Pool was beautiful.  It was enclosed and warm, was always quiet. The Majestic offered plenty of open outdoor deck space for viewing as well.  This was my third Alaska sailing and I was considering the NCL Bliss because of its lovely Observation Lounge or HAL Koningsdam with the Crows Nest, but glad I was able to find this amenity on Princess. Side Note: No matter which ship - Glacier Bay is a must!!!

  6. Sailed on Majestic Princess in May.  Single & Solo Travelers Get-Together was held at 5:30pm each day.

Only the first Get-Together was “Hosted”. Shared dining option was available…I was able to select  select table size (2, 6, 8…).  I received double credit as solo, but am already at Elite so I stopped counting. This was my 8th solo sailing on Princess. Have also sailed solo on Royal Caribbean, Holland America & on Norwegian.
Norwegian puts the most effort into hosting solo/singles cruisers.  On ships with Studio Cabins - there is the Studio Lounge, avail. only to solo/single passengers and a dedicated host, who coordinates the initial meet & greet, and then shows up each evening to arrange dining and show seating.  I met lots of nice people on my NCL sailings, many of us still cruise together several times a year.

  7. Sailed Allure April 2-10. We are vaxxed and boostered also.  At that time masks were only required inside the cruise terminal at check-in.  Masks not required onboard, although we carried masks with us initially in anticipation of crowded elevators & interior venues. We wore masks to the ice show, and in the casino when it was busy, that was it. I believe the capacity of our sailing was 4,000 passengers - but it never felt crowded.

  8. Am just recently finding out about data breach!  Maybe that's why have not been able to sign in for almost a month! Seems Princess should have let folks know about this!  Today had same issue as "maxcat910"...I attempted to sign-in, but could not - so used the "need help" setting and it let me reset password - but none of my info appears...it's like setting up a new account.  Hope entire history of sailing with Princess not lost!

  9. I called Monday to inquire about rebooking my cancelled sailing (Enchanted - March 27th) - booked as April Casino offer (free cabin, drink package, paid gratuities, casino credit, etc.).  Phoned the casino direct number Monday morning and waited less than 5 min. to talk with someone.  The friendly agent helped me find a comparable sailing on the Sky in November 2021.

She explained she could not transfer the money from the cancelled booking - but that I would receive that as a refund to my original form of payment (my fingers are crossed). So - I had to pay port & tax and a deposit (that becomes an onboard credit) again.  I was going to book another sailing to take advantage of the Casino VIP Sailing offer, however she said she only worked on the "comped" offers and gave me a different phone number to call.  I have until Jan 5 to take advantage of that offer.

  10. If I book an inside stateroom,  prefer the "sideways" cabins too.  I enjoyed Caribe 328 on the Royal Princess - it seemed more spacious. Since entry door is right there in bedroom I could here the crew preparing to service cabins in the a.m.  Didn't bother me too much since I like to get up early.  Mid-forward, decks 10-11, or 12 (Aloha is my favorite deck) are good for me...I'm in the Spa, Enclave and Casino a lot - so I want to be close to that far forward staircase.

  11. Sailed on the Mariner on a 4-night cruise just after it was "amped" - just as a quick get-away. Did not enjoy it - at all!

The ship was too small & crowded for my taste.  The cabins were worn and dated. The crowd was too young & rowdy and the crew didn't manage or handle things very well.  It was a booze cruise.  If you are young, looking to party, and not concerned about good food or level of customer service...you will probably have a great time.

  12. Congrats to those who got through! I received the offer too. Still not booked however - cannot get through on phone but did get a response to request using designated email, only confirming receipt of my request.   Seems they are overwhelmed to say the least...

Not helping that now any/everyone who sees these generous offers and all the booking details posted -  is curious and will be calling/emailing Princess Casino too:  "just to see if we qualify"...further delaying response to folks who were targeted to receive the offer!  😒

  13. Love to hear the words "Welcome aboard"

    Also loved

*Hearing the ship's horn play the "Love Boat" theme song for the first time - Regal Princess

*Watching a gorgeous sunrise on a warm spring morning as we entered the Panama Canal -Coral Princess

*Experiencing New Year's Eve on Royal Princess 2017' - best NYE ever!

*Early morning Irish Coffees on deck of Ruby Princess as we entered spectacular Glacier Bay - Alaska

*Encountering two most favorite Princess crew members(Rob & Ramel) again onboard four years later

*Having the Enclave on the Regal all to myself one evening...I could go on.

Cruising is my "happy place" too. Have sailed other lines - but am happier when sailing with Princess.

'Anyone know why when I got a price reduction on the Bliss, the taxes increased?  I don't recall it happening prior to this cruise? same BF cabin. thx

I'm puzzled too by NCL's port/taxes/fees...and why NCL port charges/taxes/fees are higher than other cruise lines to start with, and can fluctuate?. Never seen this practice on other lines.

  15. As a Princes Casino Ultimate VIP invited guest a couple of years ago...I received VIP boarding, special welcome cocktail party, casino credit, complimentary drinks in the casino (you have wear a special lanyard to identify you), gifts in the stateroom. There were several special drawings held in the casino throughout the cruise that you had to be present for and playing to be eligible.  VIP cocktail reception towards end of cruise where several drawings were held, including for a free cruise.

  16. The Terrace Pool is usually my favorite place on Princess Ships, especially in the evening for a quiet cocktail and gorgeous sunsets, not on the Regal or Royal though. That aft area is nothing like it is on the Golden, Crown, Caribbean, etc. It's not at all inviting or quiet. It's a big hot tub - typically surrounded by people smoking.
