Thanks for responding. Not worried about seasickness, just haven't stayed in the type cabin before. We are usually mid ship. This is also the first time on this class ship.

Hi All,
Was wondering if anybody has experience on the forward cabins on the Wonder of the Seas, in our case deck 8. I know generally any forward cabins you may feel more sea conditions depending on the conditions.
Thanks in advance,
Rich

thanks for response, i agree that Shorefox is a middleman but so is any cruise line. I will also read the reports you suggest.

Hello all,
My wife and I are going to Alaska in late May/June for land and sea. Was looking at the various excursions, not cheap, guessing to a short season etc.
My wife found a company called Shorefox for excursions and I am wondering if anyone board member here have used them. I have checked them out on the net the best I can and they have a decent rating via the "net". They also state they will get you back to ship before departure, etc. also.
Thanks in advance!

THANKS for all the replies, after looking at my cards none have the RFID, just have the mag. strips. So, except for my passport that does have the RFID guess I will though that in a sleeve and take the trip.

I already did a search for past posts on this subject. Seems like some like them some don't, or don't care either way from what I am reading. Just trying to get an update on what current thoughts are.
My own current thought is to get one that is thin enough to be able to hang around the neck, more for pick pockets then the RFID. Also seems like most of these wallets tend to be a bit bulky.
Thanks in advance,
Rich

Hey Everyone,
The Mrs. and I are doing our first trip to Europe and going with Viking this Nov., doing the Rhine Cruise. Doing a pre trip in Amsterdam for a couple of days before cruise.
I am guessing the easiest way to get euros is at the airport when we arrive? (coins and paper)
Two weeks here in the states to order from bank and seems to be a higher rate, plus fees of course.
2nd thing is we picked our seats on our flights going over, but for our long flight home we were not able to do that, is that normal? flying United
Thanks in advance,
Rich

Thanks everyone for responding to my questions. Really looking forward to the trip down the Rhine in Nov.
Will also look at booking my own way if we decide to do this again. For our first time just thought it was easier to let Viking take care of everything.

Hi All,
We are heading on a Rhine Cruise in Nov. 2014. The Mrs. somewhere read that wearing "white" sneakers signaled you are a tourist and not to wear them during the walks, has anyone ever heard of this?
Myself, since it will be Nov. and cooler I am thinking a lightweight hiking boot.
Onto the second part, since this is our first cruise we booked thru viking, got a much better airfare from what I have observed posted here on the board.
Would like to hear from those of you who book your own way and how it compares and yes I will also search on the board here for past posts too.
This is all new to us, so THANK YOU all for helping.

Hi Everyone,
Hopefully someone can help. Going on our first cruise this fall(Germany). Have been researching on credit card use, having the chip card vs. having mag. strip.
I keep getting conflicting answers on if you need the chip card or not.
Seems like some places take either, some don't.
Maybe someone who has been there recently can give a better answer?
Thanks in advance.
