  1. Sailing on the Pearl, departs August 5th out of Seattle. Just received the email "Unable to Confirm Your Upgrade". I bid max, $450 per person, $900.00 total, upgrade bid from inside to balcony, did not bother bidding on the window. My very first cruise in a inside, always have had balcony or higher, my 23rd cruise, next cruise is Platinum on NCL. So....maybe we will find out we like inside?? It's my third trip to Alaska and daughter and I are taking the grandson for his first cruise, so excited, for all of us.

Wow, we are in the same situation, 26 cruises, trying to get a Balcony, only had 1 inside, which was 20plus years ago LOL, Hoping for the upgrade Bid, when their is currently no Cabins left. So we might have to fall in Love with the inside also, at least we are on the Ship and will have a great time and you and your family will also. Happy Cruising!

  2. I don't believe so.

JamieLogical, I have noticed you know a lot about the bidding process, We booked the Jade for Aug, 25th Fjords cruise, we did this 2 weeks ago, all that was left was inside, we have Bid for a Balcony, still only has inside sailway left, it was sold out total, but did come back with the inside, what are the odds of some magic happening and getting a Balcony? LOL

  3. I called about 9pm Eastern on Thursday. Hope you hear soon!

Thanks All, she did call, and we did get the Move Over deal for a cruise to South America in December, we had first leg, now we have both, we paid a proration for the extra 3 days. We also were able to get another cruise for the same time so we will still be going to Baltic. Hope we all have a great trip!

  4. Hi Jim,

Just got the call. Were given option to wait for choosing replacement sailing and also to take a longer sailing by paying a prorated per diem rate based on the original class we booked, so we have accepted. We are going to peruse other sailings and maybe find a bucket list trip!

    Thanks!

    Blgsiebe

When did you make the call,? I called friday at 8am eastern time and am still waiting! This is very stressful!

  5. We were on the Epic last October and we will again this coming Nov 5. Last year it was our first time on a Megaship we are used to the smaller ships, we booked the shows, the MDR and specialty restaurants once the option became available on NCL.com. When we got on board we realized we did not have to book the MDR in advance it was easy to get it. On this trip we will just book the entertainment and the days we want to eat at the specialty restaurants.. :)

We are going to be on the Nov cruise also in a Haven Aft, How is the weather? are we going to be ab;e to use the Haven?

  6. I'm on the same TA with you and did get my spa pass early. I think you have 2 options: Go directly to the spa when you board; this is a first time for this itinerary and less likely to be sold out that more familiar cruises. Second, some people change their minds either just before sailing or shortly after and you could ask about that too. Have them take your name and cabin no. in case plan A doesn't work out. Good luck!

Thanks so Much! Appreciate the info

  7. Does anyone have any experience with eating gluten-free at Teppanyaki? Do they have GF soy sauce/tamari?

I am Gluten Free and have eaten there several times, they ask everyone if you have any allergies, I say GF, and they say ok, and they cook in the back and bring out, and you get hugh Portion and its fabulous.

  8. We were picked up from the tender location at 11:00am. We returned the next day at 11:00am. Basically the trip is 24 hours. We were back at the tender location by 12:00, the Millennium departed at 1:00pm. Cost for our 8 couples, including transport to and from the Junk was $2,502.00USD. Worked out at $357.00 per couple.

    Happy Planning,

    Capt. Ron

    Thanks, Captain Ron

So is there Room for 10 Couples on the same ship? Do you need to pay upfront?

  9. Yes, the Dragon Pearl, 10 cabins on board. Seemed like plenty of room for the 8 couples that we had with us. There are 3 decks for sunning and lounging. Big cabins, I would say 10 couples would not have a problem for an over night trip.

    Capt. Ron

? How long was the overnight, when did they pick you up from ship till they dropped you off and how much did it cost for 10 couples?

  10. Hi Karen, I have been trying to find out the condition of the windows in "our" suite too. Sounds the starboard has most of the problems. I asked the pre concierge desk in Miami if there will be any window repairs during the Bahamas dry dock. They responded that there is no work on deck 12 on the repair schedule. I still am hoping it happens though. Any chance you can post an update on the 12018 windows before you sail away on 4/27? I'm considering changing staterooms for 5/11. Thanks, Beverly

If their is a way to do it I will, I do understand:)

  11. Anyone have any recommended budget friendly Ketchikan tours? Or fun things to do? I'm planning two expensive excursions in other ports so I'm trying to save a little while in Ketchikan. Open to any ideas. Thanks!

We had a great day for very little money, We had lunch at AnnaBelles (is right on main street), great place and cheap. Bought a T shirt at the restaurant, then took a Bus for $1.00 RT per person which was fun way to see things, and we went to Totem Bight State Park, beautiful place, and they have all kinds of Fantastic Totems, they have lots of tours groups, so we just tagged along. Then took bus back to town.

  12. We have been in 2 different suites, the last one just last month on deck 12.

We had no issues with windows, actually loved the suite. No noise either.

NCL has a fabulous suite package.

Patti, what was your cabin # on deck 12? Trying to figure which ones have good windows and which ones don't, thanks

  13. Hi All,

I booked the NCL Panama Cruise from LA 12th April 2015, for my parents (independently - ie flights, hotels and cruise all booked by me).

    Hope someone can help.

I am posting thus on behalf of my parents who flew from the UK on a 16 hrs flight to LA to board the NCL Panama Canal month cruise for the holiday of a lifetime, only to be told on arrival 12/04/2015, at the port that the cruise is cancelled!!

They are in there mid 70's and devastated.

At the minute they have no idea what is happening and are very upset.

Does anyone have any information of what NCL's responsibilitys are?

ie will compensation be paid for the flights they have paid for and the Hotels in LA and Copenhagen?

Will they provide alternative cruise options and flights back to UK?

Any info will be a big help as they are getting no assistance from NCL at the minute.

    Thanks in anticipation

OMG, I am so sorry that they are going thru this, what happened was they cancelled that cruise due to a mechanical issue a week ago, sent emails and made calls to people to let them know. They have a special # to help people that I believe NCL can transfer you to. As far as I know they were giving everyone a full refund on the cruise part, and I know that some have already received that. Also they were giving 150 change fees for air and hotel, also I heard they have for ALL other money that was a loss you can file a claim and that they will help you with it. Also they are giving 50% discount on next cruise. We are on the TA to Copenhagen on the 27th from Miami, I would think that if you can get a hold of the right people with Ncl hopefully they will make this somehow work for them. They could fly to Miami maybe and stay until the next leg of their trip so its not a total loss. Do they have Insurance on this trip? If so that might also work, as I called our Ins just to see, that if our leg was cancelled and was told we were covered for a mechanical failure. Just a thought. Please let me know if you have any other questions or ways I can help, and please let me know what happens. Hoping all the best, Karen

  14. I have the Dining package and am trying to make reservations for 2 for Teppanyaki. All I get is a 9:30pm time for 2, if you put 4 people in you can get a better time. Is it possible to do this? or should I wait till I board and have Butler do, as we are staying for the first time in a SJ Suite? Any help and tips would be appreciated. Also should I do all nights in advance, to insure we will get in. We are on a 14 day TA.
