  1. Hi,

I want to buy my tickets but want to know should I just buy NCL insurance(quoted $29 a person for 7days) or is there a better one with more coverage I should be looking at. Or should I just forego the insurance? I am only responsible for my tax/port fees since this is a casino cruise.

First time cruiser so all new to me. Thanks for your help

  2. We are booked on the Breakaway for Oct. 5th and the CAS agent said that because we booked through them, the insurance was just $29.00 per person, so I took it. We also sailed on the Breakaway in April with a casino offer but I didn't take the insurance and I was kicking myself because it was a small price to pay for peace of mind.

    Mikkar,

funny you should mention this...I was just on the phone inquiring about same date, same cruise! They quoted just shy of $700 total for 2. Does that sound about right? My trigger finger is getting itchy :D

  3. Thanks Yankee! I want to try cruising at least once before I rule it out. just because I have had sea sickness on smaller vessels, I may have better luck with a big guy. So, I will definitely be plying all the tricks of the trade if necessary.

I am hoping the weather will be decent if I go in early October(would love to actually be able to feel warm weather and go swimming) .

I am looking forward to the new adventure!

  4. Thank you for all replies! I did read about the sea sickness cures but was totally confused by all the different good/bad of all. I guess a case of TMI. I think I will just bring bonine and cross my fingers that it does the job.

I will call today about the midship lower deck cabin.

Does anyone know if one gets insurance on trip if you are getting the trip gratis through a casino(I know to expect some cost tax/port/etc) Could not find a post on that.

    Thank you!

  5. Mid ship...lower deck. Think of a ride ( like a big swing) the middle/lower moves the least.

Also free sea sickness pills at front desk. We always take one prior to sailing, and everyday-weather we feel we need it or not, and yes, we drink (a lot) while taking them.

    Safe sailing

What pills do you feel are most effective? I just do not want to be too tired or to sick to enjoy myself.

    Thank you for your help!
