  1. Did this 1 year ago through Carnival. There wasn't much instruction and they go fast. My group was experienced on the water but others on the excursion were not. Another rider lost control and hit me and my sister and ran over us in the water. She ended up in the hospital and it ruined our trip as well as the rider who hit us. The boats are fast but old and worn out. They let anyone get behind the wheel no matter what their experience level was. Another couple almost crashed also. Luckily I am a nurse and got her to safety. I'm not saying this will happen to anyone ever again, just thought I would share my story. Use caution when booking outside the cruise line, I know it cheaper but if we would have not used Carnival, we would have missed the boat and had an ambulance and hospital bill to pay which was covered by the excursion company because we booked through Carnival.

  2. I get very sea sick so my doctor prescribes my Meclizine for motion sickness and Zofran for nausea and it has worked the best. I didn't get sick once on my last cruise with that combo. The patches make me more sick because they are too strong. The middle of the ship is the best place to be. The front is the worst. Btw... The prescription Meclizine is the same as the Bonine but way cheaper. Also a balcony room helped me, I get sick in a Oceanview or inside room. Good luck :)

  3. Thank you. I'm very excited I just couldn't get the bad thoughts out of my head lol, but I feel more at ease now. I know for sure I will get sick so I need to make sure I get some meds for it. Do you think prescription meds are better or OTC?

I do. The OTC meds did not work for me. I tried everything. The sea bands in my opinion are more " mental" comfort and annoying because they are fabric and stay wet if you go in the water ( which u will be doing a lot of) and not very stylish. I wore them 2 days and switched back to my meds. The scopolamine patches are strong and made me dizzy, plus expensive unless you have health insurance. Every cruise I got sea sick but not the last when I did the combo Meclizine and Zofran.

  4. I myself get very sea sick and continue to cruise. I will be going on my 5th cruise. If I feel sick I stay away from the front of the boat and stay more in the middle. You can also hang out in the pool and your sea sickness will go away. The scopolamine patches did not work for me but I get a prescription of Meclizine from my MD and it works great. I also get Zofran for nausea. I don't let it ruin my time. Once you get on the boat all of your fears will go away because you will have so much fun! Don't worry :)
