Just did a one week Alaska cruise aboard the Zaandam. Our formal nights were on nights 2 and 5. The first formal night was prime rib, second formal night was surf and turf (lobster and filet mignon).

Sailed on the Zaandam to Alaska for my first time earlier this month. The ship was great. Like others reported, the Mix bars have been added and piano man Jeff was fantastic every night.
Was a little disappointed that the Dive In grill has not been added yet though!

Was on the Zaandam to Alaska earlier this month. Most guys, myself included, had a suit and tie. I did however see a couple people with just dress shirts, and even one with a golf shirt and they were all let in.

Thanks for the info! I'm excited to hear about the crew serving food from their native countries.
And yes, I am leaving this friday, very excited!

Thanks for replying! Only been aboard Celebrity before, and we found that breakfast in the dining room was the same as the lido, whereas lunch and dinner had different options in each. Wasn't sure if it was the same for HAL or not.

Can you pretty much find anything off the dining room breakfast menu in the lido buffet?

My first cruise was last year. It was a 7 day roundtrip cruise from Vancouver to Alaska. We went with Celebrity aboard the Century, and stopped at Ice Straight Point, Ketchikan, Hubbard Glacier, and Juneau. Loved it so much that I'm going back to Alaska next month aboard the ms Zaandam. Looking forward to it!
