Uh.. go and have fun. Don't worry what the ship looks like.
-
:( I wish everyone would just get along.

We booked the March 3rd Conquest cruise. We did March 31st this year on Magic and there were A LOT of children.. but looking at most of the spring break times for the younger kids, it doesn't look like too many have it that early. Some colleges do but most college kids are not going to take a week long cruise for budget and time reasons.
-
My first few cruises I dressed up every night but lately.. not so much. Just for elegant night I'll wear a dress. Other nights it's shorts and comfortable things.

Carnival has a section on their website. I'll know better next November. :)
-
Sounds like you think Carnival owes you something. Chill out and wait like everyone else. It's not a big deal, honestly.
-
So you feel slighted that Carnival is keeping people safe by letting them stay on if they want to, when you have the option to rebook in the future (with no cancellation penalty). The cruise going out tomorrow is shortened anyway, so what's the problem? You paid initially for a 6-8 day cruise and they gave you the entire credit back.... Therefore, you should be happy that they even offered you the credit to begin with.

We know how you feel with the hurricane throwing your plans in limbo. Matthew forced us to cancel our cruise last year. Hopefully everything will work out for you!

We never have a problem with the food or service in the MDR. Never took us more than an hour - hour and 15 minutes to get our entire meals. The handmade ice cream on Lido is VERY good! Super creamy and the flavors change daily.
Positives
- Sky Ride! Just make sure you have closed-toe shoes, otherwise they won't let you on.. and they do check every time someone enters the line
- Boarding was the quickest we ever had.
- Trivia
- Matt Mitcham (current cruise director)
- Ship never felt crowded
- The Dreamscapes are pretty neat
Negatives:
- The main theater's sight lines are horrible in the balcony, unless you're about 4 or 5 rows back. The plexi-glass is really annoying, and smaller panels than on other ships... didn't care for that too much.
- Bingo - (We didn't play this cruise) They may have changed it since then, but Bingo was held in Ocean Plaza and there are far too many people playing than the venue can hold. :( People would literally come up to us and ask for our table beforehand and if we could hold it while they bought their bingo cards... wish they held it in the main theater or comedy club.

Where is this information? It's not on the book of faces, either.

Some humans are ridiculous. Common decency and respect seems to go out the window once you're on board, unfortunately.
-
...Very hooked, I suppose.

Breeze is doing a Journeys repo cruise in September of next year, Galveston to Orlando.
Magic is moving down to Miami.
Vista is taking Breeze's place in Galveston.
Horizon will also be in Miami.
-
We booked a connecting cabin on our first cruise because you can potentially be upgraded if someone wanted the connecting rooms.. didn't pan out in this case, but no big deal.
-
No ship is 'too old'. Your cruise is what you make of it, first and foremost. Every ship has its own charm.
-
Not to be a downer, but we missed our cruise last October due to Matthew. :( But on a lighter note they typically reroute the ship to other ports if there's a storm around. Our Breeze cruise was a temporary Western Caribbean because of Erika back in 2015, but everything worked out and we ended up going the original itinerary.
-
People are never happy, so they'll find fault with something if they aren't happy. We've never had a bad experience on any of our cruises. Liberty was our first Carnival cruise, and we're still going with them, so it must have been okay. :)
-
Thank you.
Hopefully it's just a trial run and they won't move it forward on the other ships.
-
Have seen this mentioned in a few reviews lately. Any truth to this? TIA.

You're paying for the "Disney experience", with the characters and atmosphere, fancy Marvel Academy and kids activities. (Which also explains why the park prices are so high). The entertainment is good and so is the food, but it's not really any better than any other cruise line, IMO. There is no casino on any of their ships, and soda is included rather than paying extra.
IMO it's not worth the extra money. It's basically an extension of the parks in that it caters more towards children, but does offer some 'adult' things.

No cruise is a bad cruise. It's what you make of it.

Good majority of kids only get half a day before, Thanksgiving Day, and the day after off, then they're back to school on Monday. I'd say that there won't be too many.
Aft balcony on 9th deck - Noisy?

We have had 9401-ish range on Dream and Conquest class. (Deck 8 equivalent) It was fairly quiet as far as restaurant noise goes. Could faintly hear the Lido deck parties if we were out on the balcony but otherwise it was fine.
