  1. We did the British Isles tour several years ago and booked our excursions in Ireland with Paddywagon Tours.  They offered free wi-fi on their buses. Got us to Blarney Castle at least 30 minutes before the rest of the tour buses arrives so we beat the line to kiss the Blarney Stone. We had tours in Cork, Dublin and Belfast that were all very enjoyable, entertaining and educational all rolled into one.  Highly recommended.

  2. We have sailed out of Galveston 10+ times and Light House treated us very well one time when we had a wreck north of Houston and had to get a rental car, arrange repairs and get to Galveston. they held our reservation until 3pm and immediately took us to the Cruise Port who had also been notified of our situation.

We, however still prefer Discount Cruise Parking for two reasons, it is $20 per car less expensive than any other place on the island, and being at the west end of the island we just hop their shuttle, load luggage in the car and we are almost immediately off the island on I-45 headed north, no Galveston traffic around the Cruise Port to contend with at all.

  3. We stayed in Old San Juan Last April at the Hotel Milano in the heart of OSJ on Fortaleza St. and it was less than $110 per night through Orbitz. They even called us a cab at 4:30am to get us to the airport for our 7:30am flight. Close enough that we walked from the ship to the hotel.

It was nothing fancy, a small room with working A/C, refrigerator and a window overlooking the back alley, queen sized bed and attached bathroom with shower - we only stayed one night because our cruise arrived in San Juan on Sunday and all the flights that could get us home to Texas the same day left in the early morning at or before the arrival time of our ship.

This allowed us all day Sunday to explore Old San Juan.

The best way to get around OSJ is the free bus system - it comes by the designated stops about every 15 minutes and you can hop off/on at any stop - saves a LOT OF WALKING, just be sure the A/C is working on the bus before you set down. There are two intersecting loops that the buses travel that can take you within a block of anywhere in OSJ.

Lots of great eating places all over and there is a great walk from El Morro down past the governors palace, mostly shaded by trees and right along the shore of the bay.

Even in April it was 90 degrees and very humid for us west Texans.

  4. We have been looking at a tour of the British Isles for next summer and just stumbled on to this idea.

Looking at the 01 August, 2015 Princess Cruise on the Royal Princess from a Southampton.

I talked to Princess this am and was told that I need to first book the cruise, then file for a route sector change to be allowed to disembark at Le Havre.

The lady seemed to be amenable to the proposition because she said Princess could handle all the transfers, even the flight back from Paris to Lubbock, TX on 08 August 2015, that is assuming the change is approved.

Some cruise company needs to offer a cruise that includes 3-4 day sin London on the front and 3-4 days in Paris on the end of a similar cruise, this would be our ideal and we would jump at it.
