  1. We were offered an upgrade of our two mini-suite rooms to Haven Rooms. In order to avoid cancellation fees, etc. we booked two Haven Rooms (I know totally nuts). . . .An H9 (Haven Spa Suite) and an H4 (2 Bedroom Suite). We would have only booked an H4, but they couldn't put all of us in one room - because we are too close to the sail date & again fees.

So my question is, since both rooms are Haven rooms with full access, is there any problem with all of just staying in the H4? Me, DH, DD(12) & DD(10).

Thank you in advance for your response!

Alternatively, it would seem you could add a third and fourth guest to your two bedroom suite for a minimal cost - and they would be able to sleep in their own Haven spa suite (while you could maintain the spa access). I am sure this could work to everyone's mutual advantage. Know two people who like to cruise?

  2. We would be interested to hear your comparative views on the two lines.

Definitely. I'll be back after the October (2016) cruise to share. Just started cruising last year so will only know NCL and Princess - so should be a clean comparison (without consideration of how other lines do anything)....

  3. We are moving towards Princess more, mainly due to all of NCL's badly communicated changes - we no longer trust them to deliver what we sign up to at present.

Thanks for the comparison. I am booked NCL Getaway in Feb and really looking forward to it - but I agree with the sentiment above and just booked my fall cruise on Princess.

  4. It is getting so convoluted that it confirms my decision to give up on NCL for the near future. Frankly, I cannot be bothered to try to keep track of all of their shenanigans with their various up-charges.

When they settle down from their constantly changing charges then we might consider them again. JMHO.

Exactly the decision I came to - I just want to know what I am getting when I book - I can consider all the charges and make my decision but NCL is just changing too much too fast....

  5. Well said. With all the changes, exclusions, add on fees, packages that are so inferior and cost more... it's getting almost as bad as doing business on a used car lot with sleazy salesman tactics. Purchase this for zero down, but when all is said and done you'll wind up paying twice as much. If they really are trying to attract a more affluent customer base it's not the way to go about it. Most people have money because they are careful with how they spend it.

    Agreed

  6. Just checked - looks like it's still free to check your "folio" but not available on the Jade...

NOW NORWEGIANS CAN UNWIND, UNPLUG AND STILL STAY CONNECTED.

Our Norwegian iConcierge app keeps you informed about everything going on, lets you make reservations for Shore Excursions and more on board Norwegian Breakaway, Norwegian Epic, Norwegian Getaway, Norwegian Jewel, Norwegian Pearl, Norwegian Sun, Norwegian Star and Pride Of America. You can plan your playtime with just one hand — which is great because your other hand will probably be holding an umbrella drink.

You can access on-demand information and real-time services, including:

    •Shore Excursions Previews and Bookings

•Restaurant Information with Menus and Bookings

    •Folio Review

•General Information, such as Onboard Services, Spa Services, and Shopping

    •Daily Activities Highlights

    •Cruise Rewards Information

•Messenger/Phone Features with Other Guests during your cruise (Nominal One-Time Fee During Cruise)

•Phone Calling with Family and Friends Back Home (Nominal Per Minute Fee During Cruise)

Once you are onboard, access the Norwegian iConcierge app for step-by-step instructions on how to connect onboard.

How to use the Norwegian iConcierge app

To reach guests who are sailing onboard Norwegian Breakaway, Norwegian Epic, Norwegian Getaway, Norwegian Jewel, Norwegian Pearl, Norwegian Sun, Norwegian Star or Pride Of America using the Norwegian iConcierge Phone Feature, please call: 1-877-308-5605 (Toll-Free, US Only) or 305-400-4629 (Local or Outside US), select the ship the guest is sailing on, and dial their stateroom number or their direct extension.

  7. Ditto. I was planning on buying my next cruise certs onboard so I could get the OBC but I have to admit I am getting a little irritated with all their changes - If I am laying out money now I want to know what I am getting and will be able to get on my NCL cruise. I understand things change but WOW .... next cruise is now up in air until NCL settles down some...

  8. Some are confusing the UDP (Ultimate Dining Plan) with the SDP (Specialty Dining Plan).....

Aha - I searched UDP on the NCL site and noticed that it no longer stated that Illusionarium was included on the first night. Came in here for confirmation and was getting really confused - until I saw this Love that I can come here and get the information I need....

Now I know I can make reservations any night, pay the discounted price, and if dinner sucks, go elsewhere with my UDP. Thanks!

  9. On Getaway in February, 2016. Booked small cabana which was pricey - but deemed worth it for this special cruise. Looking through today and the large cabana is a relatively small amount more ($72). This actually seems like a reasonable amount to pay for the additional room. Right now they are equal in my mind. So for people who have experienced GSC and the cabanas - which would you recommend?

  10. Just used the couch on my May 3 breakaway cruise to Bermuda in an aft suite. Yes, the room steward makes up and puts it away daily. There is room to walk past the couch bed to get to the balcony (though not oodles of room for something like a walker or crutches).

Thanks - that's exactly what I wanted to know. :)

  11. We are on a Norwegian Getaway cruise (still months away ) in an aft facing penthouse suite and will be utilizing the couch bed. Does the room steward set it up every night and put it away during the day? Is there room to walk by it when it's set up as a bed? Thanks for any information... hope this isn't too dumb but only second cruise and first using couch bed and want to know how convenient/inconvenient it will be.

  12. We are on a Norwegian Getaway cruise (still months away :( ) in an aft facing penthouse suite and will be utilizing the sofa bed. Does the room steward set it up every night and put it away during the day? Is there room to walk by it when it's set up as a bed? Thanks
