  1. I decided to just go ahead & purchase a zip lining excursion instead of snorkeling. We are doing the "Canopy Tour & Tabyana Beach" in.. Roatan, I think. We're still on the fence about a snorkeling excursion though so I'm sure we'll just end up purchasing one after we're already on the ship. I really only wanted to choose a snorkeling excursion because we just bought a GoPro & wanted to get some good underwater footage. According to the reviews on that excursion, you can still rent snorkeling equip. at the beach & do it on your own, so that was a plus for me. We are setting sail August 10th so I will be sure to leave a review on here of the excursions we go on. Thank you all so much for your helpful input!

  2. I just wanted to thank all of you for your replies. I took note of every single one of them & went on a search to find what excursions we wanted to book. I did have some trouble finding the excursion in Belize for Caulker Caye & the one for Tabyana Beach in Roatan. Are either one of these listed on Carnivals website for the excursions, or could there possibly be another port that they also dock at at these places, or did y'all go through a private company? I didn't see the one for Caulker Cay anywhere. It was recommended 4 times & I really wanted to find it! I did however, find one for Tabyana Beach but I don't think I remember it saying anything about snorkeling, or maybe it was just a small portion of that excursion. I haven't booked anything yet.. Can anyone help me with Caulker Cay?

  3. So with smoking gone on balconies... and please dont bother bringing it up here, theres 3 other threads on it... Where would you like to see Carnival allow Vaping.

If you don't know what Vaping is, please do a simple google search, or you will probably be made fun of relentlessly.

Please be respectful here, well thought out arguments are encouraged, because I said so or because broad statements without explanation is just counter productive.

    My personal feeling.

Vaping should be allowed in state rooms, balconies, in the open air area's of the ship, as well as any indoor smoking areas such as the casino, Vaping leaves no residual smell or soot, so theres no damage to be done, and no smell for the next guests. I do NOT think it should be allowed in the non smoking venues such as the main theater. The reason is not for health, but because it is distracting to others. Dining room I think should also be off limits, as well as ship hallways, and non smoking indoor area's.

    So, where do you think?

I completely agree with you 100%! I just hope that they will change their policy & allow it!

  4. It is a good thing that they are changing the smoking policy, but e-cigs too? Gosh, I hope not! I can understand them not wanting the horrible smell of cigarette smoke & the rest that comes with it. If smokers still would like to cruise with carnival they can just as easily get an e-cig, instead of smoking cigs, so then it won't bother anyone else etc. I think that would be a huge mistake for Carnival to completely ban them all.

  5. I'm glad I read this thread. I hadn't purchased the trip insurance yet so I went to the website suggested and received a boatload of quotes. The only problem was deciding which one would be the one I would actually need. I went with Nationwide Insurance. Hopefully it has the most important coverage I would need.

I read over the terms & it basically covers everything you would need. If a family member dies or if you get severely sick or stuck in a traffic jam on the way there & so on.

  6. Awesome! Thank you all so much for your help. I just bought insurance through insuremytrip.com & ended up paying less than 1/2 of what carnival charges. I feel better now & not so worried in case anything were to happen. :)

  7. We took our 1st cruise last year (my husband & I) and we both bought the insurance through carnival. This time (we're sailing in August 2014) I didn't buy the insurance. I'm a little nervous about not buying it but I HATE to waste another $200 on it. I would love to hear everyone's opinion on it. Is it worth it? Have you ever actually needed it? And what's the likelihood that they would actually lose your luggage?

  8. We will be setting sail this August on the carnival Legend. This will be our 2nd cruise! We will be going to Cozumel, Belize, Mahogany bay & Grand Cayman. We just bought a GoPro so we can make a video of our cruise & share it with our family. I want to plan an excursion for snorkeling. It's looking like either Cozumel or Grand Cay will be our best bet but I would love to know what the best excursions are for snorkeling so I can make a good decision since we can only afford to buy 1.
