  1. I was also on this cruise. Just wanted to mention went to the Splash show with our friends to watch their two little ones dressed as tigers. Your son did an amazing job as the co-host and you can tell he really enjoyed the splash program just by the confidence he emitted while onstage!! Glad to hear you enjoyed your cruise as much as we did 😄

  2. This past August prices dropped significantly for my cruise on the Sky after final payment. I was able to call my PCC and went from a midship oceanview to a midship balcony.

Right now we are booked for a B1 on the Breakaway in 9 days and prices have continued to drop. Called last week and was offered the M6 as a free upgrade but declined and called again today and was offered a spa minisuite. I was really just hoping for some obc as I don't want to give up my nice big aft balcony.

I guess the point I'm trying to make is if you closely watch the price and have a good PCC or TA upgrades might find you!

  3. I love the BA and have another cruise on her in just under a month. With that being said I sailed BA in May and the Sky in August and although the Sky definitely shows her age, we still had an absolutely amazing cruise and I wouldn't hesitate to sail on the Sky again. As others have said it seems that the newer and larger ships become more of the destination than the ports itself which is obviously more ideal when there are several sea days. It seems like the cruises you are looking at are more port intensive in which the ships you mentioned would definitely be great for.

  4. Definitely prefer the bed by the balcony. I found it too difficult to get in and out of the closet with the other set up. Plus when you first walk in the room seems so much more spacious when the bed is near the balcony as the whole front area feels more open.

  5. I was also on this sailing as part of a bachelorette group. This was the smallest and oldest ship I have sailed on and was concerned about this impacting my overall impression but my entire group really loved the Sky. We found the food to be good to great in the MDRs but I agree that I was overall dissatisfied with the buffet. I was thankful for the beautiful weather we experienced at both GSC and Nassau and I think the captain definitely made the right choice in the itinerary swap. We stayed in connecting balcony rooms and also found the staterooms to be small in comparison to other similar categories rooms on the rest of the ships I've been on. Overall it was a great weekend getaway and we had a ton of fun, especially at the white hot party dancing the night away!

  6. When we were on the Breakaway this past May the menu clearly stated that only one item could be ordered for each course. The starters and main course were decently sized and the food was overall good to great quality and I remember leaving quite full. My husband and I purchased the UDP for our upcoming October trip on the Breakaway but we both already decided that we would not return back to Ocean Blue as we did not feel the charge was really worth what we got for our meal overall and enjoyed other venues such as Cagney's much more.

  7. My husband and I will be sailing for our second time on the Breakaway this October. On our previous sailing to Bermuda we had a normal midship balcony cabin. We initially booked another midship balcony for this cruise but when pricing started to meet our budget we decided to upgrade to an aft balcony specifically one on deck 9. This is our first time sailing aft as we usually prefer midship but couldn't pass on such a large balcony experience. My question is for those who have had a aft balcony on deck 9 is if there are always 2 normal chairs and a small table as well as 2 chaise loungers? I have seen many people post pictures of this configuration and want to know what to expect. If this is not the case would the cabin steward be able to bring us loungers per our request?

  8. I am booked on the Oct 12th sailing in 9920. We upgraded from our midship balcony and are very excited as we have never sailed in an aft balcony previously! I was told by our cruise consultant that 9920 is the largest at 168sq ft followed by 9320 at 158 sq ft. Definitely beats the 32 sq ft the regular balcony room has...

  9. I have sailed on both the Dawn and Breakaway. Although both ships have their highlights, I would have to say hands down that the Breakaway blows the Dawn out of the water as far as overall ambiance and experience as well as amenities. We took the Breakaway to Bermuda this past May and Bermuda was absolutely beautiful, however, the temperatures mimicked those that were in the New England area where we are from with a high of only about 72-75. I would be nervous that the temperatures in October may be a bit chilly. Did you look at the normal weather trends for that time of the year in Bermuda??

I had a balcony room on both the Dawn and the Breakaway. Obviously the Breakaway is practically a brand new ship when compared with the Dawn and this is reflected in the differences between the cabins. My husband and I were very pleased with the room on the Breakaway, the bathroom was decently sized and the balcony was average in comparison to other ships.

Hope this somewhat helps! Which ever you choose you'll have a great time :)
