  1. Just ask you dining room waiter for the vegan menu and you can choose what to have the following night. It is an excellent menu with about 16 dishes but it does not change.Sometimes there are also vegan choices on the main menu

Any sheltered balcony stateroom would be nice. There are some on Deck 4 that will suffer somewhat from noise on Deck 3, particularly in the area of the Royal Court Theatre when performances or rehearsals are going on (the interior staterooms across the hall would seem to have a worse issue). This effect is very localized and just a few places down the hall it is very diminished.

In 2019 I had a stateroom on 4 that was located approximately over the entrance lobby to Illuminations. I never heard any noise from below in that stateroom despite late night movies being shown in Illuminations.

Forward staterooms generally have less engine noise IME so I've always been happy to book a forward stateroom in preference to an aft stateroom.

Do you remember the cabin number as we have a similar position for the March Caribbean cruise. Thanks

  3. I thought some people might be interested in the Travel Insurance that comes with a Nationwide Bank Account. It is for a joint bank account for my wife and I ........Here is the wording

    Your cover while you’re away

You’re covered for emergency medical costs abroad. This includes additional transport and accommodation costs if you need treatment or your return home is delayed due to having to quarantine because of the coronavirus on your trip.

Some countries require you to quarantine when you arrive. If the FCDO were not advising you to quarantine when you booked your trip, opened your current account or began your trip, you’re covered for reasonable additional accommodation and transport costs.

  4. I have not been on a Cunard cruise for 3 years but I remember it was possible to pay a deposit onboard on a future cruise which could be used at anytime over the next 2 years.Doing this gave an extra onboard credit of about $300...Is this still possible ? If available do you have to choose the cruise immediately onboard or can you choose at a later date

  5. If I was in charge of Marketing for Carnival the first thing I would do to get business is to offer free comprehensive cruise insurance on all my ships for 2021 cruises...….they may need to add to the basic cruise price but they should have the fire power to get a good deal off the insurance companies so that prices do not increase too much.

No I have not managed the art of quoting,  and have no reason to specifically learn.

How odd that you have to obtain screen shots of original posts.

Who's arguing about countries governments, we have many posters from different countries adding to the same thread.

But I would have thought that the answer to the OP question would be that we have to wait and see, It must depend on your countries travel advice as   I have said above to your original reply . Only a fool would travel without Travel Insurance. We all know that the insurance will get out of paying out. So if your countries travel advice is not to travel for specific reasons, then that obviously should  be adhered to and one would not be prepared to travel.

  7. It is really interesting to see the constant complaints on this board about Pol Acker. When I was the Marketing Director of a multinational food company many of my friends said they never ate my product as they didn't like it. One summer I had about 12 friends around for a garden party and asked if they would take part in a "blind" test of four products and tell me which they liked the best. The result was that 8 of the 12 put my product first even though they had previously said they would never touch it !!

Probably the best idea for Cunard would be to rebrand the same product and see what response they get.

  8. A couple of years ago we gave four postcards to the purser on the Queen Victoria when we were in St Petersburg. We paid the fee but none arrived. From other threads I think you have about a 50% chance of anything arriving

  9. I too have medical insurance covered by my bank account. The standard insurance covers trips of up to 31 days but I contacted the company and they were happy to extend the policy for up to 180 days for approximately an extra £1 per day. However we do not have any medical pre conditions.

I am on QM2 now and thought you might be interested in in this.

We were in the chart room last night. It was a gala night so everyone was dressed up to the nines. A man walked in looking like he had just come off a building site. The bar staff refused to serve him. He left looking very unhappy. It made us happy though.

Good to know the rules are being enforced. When my wife and I were on the QM2 world cruise earlier this year a man arrived in the theatre and sat next to us.He was wearing hobnail boots, jeans,a t shirt,a baseball hat and a scarf. He looked as if he had just come up from the engine room. When my wife asked the Cunard lady on the theatre door why he had been admitted she said " we didn't see him " !!!!!!!  If you believe that you will believe anything.Incidentally it happened when the ship reached Australian waters and one of the bar waiters told us unofficially they had been told to be a little lenient as the Australians spend lots of money in the bars

We could see nothing on it either of us would touch. Uncooked venison? It is a shame to be leaving NYC and all the lovely ethnic food choices to have this as our dining upgrade choice? The mass market lines in some cases make an effort to see what people like to eat- or even what is hip and popular.

I am amazed that there is nothing on the menu that either of you would touch...my children would eat most of the choices and be delighted....if the requirement is for New York ethnic food then dining on an international ship catering for many nationalities would not be my choice of travel

  12. Slight panic attack this morning. Woke up wondering if our Deck 4 cabin might be directly above G32 or the Queens Room and we would be hearing music till the wee hours of the morning. A quick check of the QM2 deck plans shows that we are above the Britannia MDR. Hopefully that will be a quiet location.

We were in 4203 during the World Cruise earlier this year and could just hear some background music at night but it wasn't obtrusive and it didn't stop us falling asleep.

  13. Agree, couldn't have said it any better. Let's be honest, it's a bit Naff walking along the corridor from your Stateroom, hanging around for an elevator, standing in the elevator whilst other guest's give you looks ( I certainly would ) then sauntering along to the restaurant negotiating other guests and all the tables .

All that just to save a dollar or two.

I agree entirely...……..you may save .01% of the cost of your holiday each time you do it !!!!!!!
