We are Leaving in a little over a week for the Basel to Amsterdam cruise. We were notified today about low water levels on the Rhine and the ships not being able to go through. We would change ships after being bussed to another location further up river. Has anyone else had this experience? How disruptive is it and does it cut into your excursions and plans, let alone having to pack & unpack again.

we are taking a Viking River Cruise from Basel to Amsterdam in November 2018. We would like to go early and do sightseeing in other countries. I heard somewhere that if you go early and don’t do their pre-cruise package that there will be an additional fee. Has anyone heard of this? Also, since booking our cruise I’ve had major hip surgery and have difficulties walking long distances. Is there any reason I couldn’t take my battery powered scooter (it is a small scooter that folds up)?

Soon to be going on the Breeze. I'm not a huge drinker so don't know if it is worth getting the beverage package. For any of you that recently cruised on Carnival can you tell me the cost of drinks, wine and beer without the package? Maybe that way I can determine if its worth it for me.
