Try Buddy Dive Resort, Bonaire. We dove with them off Carnival's Vista in March this year. Their dive shop is right on the shoreline and a short ride from the cruise ship docks. The reefs are right off the dive shop/shoreline also.

I remember on our cruise on Carnival's Mardi Gras in 1985, the midnight buffet after leaving Cozumel was handmade tamales! They were so yummy and wonderful. There must have been a lot of Yankees onboard because it seemed like my DH and I were the only ones who knew what they were. We ate so many of them I still feel stuffed from them!
I also loved the ice sculptures and the carved fruit. I was disappointed when none of that was onboard when I took my 2 sons in 2014 on Carnival's Legend.

First cruise was with my parents, around 1980. Carnival's Mardi Gras, '27,250 tons of fun' :D 7 days out of Miami to Nassau, San Juan, and St Croix. Ended up doing a second week plus a handful of 4 day cruises on that ship.
Before the DH and I were married we sailed on the Mardi Gras in 1985 out of Miami to Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cozumel. We were saving money to go to Europe then a drunk driver hit my husband 2 months before we were to fly overseas. He spent 5 weeks in the hospital and we decided to go on a vacation where they took us to the fun. Carnival Cruise Lines was our choice and the Mardi Gras was our boat. It was such a beautiful ship with all that wood! DH hobbled around on crutches through the Mayan Ruins, he was a trooper!
As it turns out Mardi Gras was Carnival's first ship, our first cruise and we were on the Vista in March for Carnival's 45th anniversary and it was our 30th anniversary!

I forgot to mention, we ended up spending our honeymoon on Grand Cayman after visiting there. We got certified for scuba and spent the whole time scuba diving with our instructor from the states.

Thank you for sharing your experiences. I'm feeling better about plunking down my money now!

Leaving on the Paradise in less than 2 weeks, has anything more become a problem? Are the remaining 5 engines still working? How about the stabilizers, sewer smell issues? Anything nasty happening? I hear Carnival is updating some cabins before the 2.0 dry dock, any word on those happening? Water pipe bursts, any more gangway openings planned?

I have only seen deck plans, what is the big open space mid-ship to toward aft on Deck 8? My cabin is right next to it and I'm starting to think it is open to the lower decks and the noise will travel up.
Anyone recently returned from sailing the Paradise from Tampa

I'm looking forward to my cruise in about 10 days in the Paradise. Just off the Vista in March with so much to do and not enough time, we are looking forward to being pampered and not trying to "do it all."
