  1. Does everyone in the stateroom have to buy the soda package or can just 1 person get it? I drink a lot of soda but my husband doesn't drink any. On NCL they would not let me buy the soda package if my husband didn't. Will I run into the same problem on X?

  2. How much climbing and walking is involved? Were you at all concerned with the safety of jumping? Were you confident the water was deep enough? I'm a worry wort but also very tempted. I will have an 11 and 15 year old with me.

  3. I have a question based on this information: If the OBC you have is the result of cashing in points on the Norwegian WorldRewards MasterCard, is that considered purchased OBC or promo OBC? In other words, can you use the OBC from the MasterCard points to pay the DSC?

Trying to figure out if I should pre-pay the DSC to get the double points or use the OBC from the points to pay the DSC :)

I was told by the NCL rewards redemption representative that the OBC I got by redeeming my rewards points could not be used for the DSC service charges.

  4. I earned OBC with my NCL credit card. When I called to redeem it for a cruise I took in January on the Jewel I asked if I could apply it to the service/gratuity charge and was told no. So it may depend on how you got the OBC.

  5. I was on the Jewel last month and got a haircut and a keratin treatment. I loved it! The stylist took plenty of time and did a really nice job! I could watch whales out the window as we approached Cabo. My hair was very easy the rest of the trip. The price was comparable or even a little less than I could get it at home. But I got a discount because I attended a hair presentation. I would recommend the services I got.

  6. Hi!

I'm cruising on the Jewel on 1/10. In preparation, I was going over my online check in that I did a few months ago. I apparently signed up for an arrival time of 9:30 a.m. - 10 a.m. How important is it that I arrive in that window? I'm concerned that is too early and that I'll just be stuck sitting in the cruise terminal for a few hours before they let people on board. I don't recall having an "arrival time" when I went on the Dawn last year. Is this new? If I get there during my window, when do you think they will let me board? Does anyone have recent experiences with an arrival time this early? I'm anxious to get on the boat early, but I'm not anxious to hang out in a terminal.

Thanks for any information you can provide!

  7. We just booked a spring break cruise on the Getaway! We got the SDP and are looking forward to trying out several specialty restaurants. My husband is a vegetarian (no meat or fish) and I like all kinds of meat. Are there vegetarian options at all of the specialty restaurants including Cagny's? He can eat an assortment of vegetarian appetizers if there is not a vegetarian entree. When we have gone to Brazillian steak houses in the past he has enjoyed the food on the salad and appetizer tables. Are these options at the Getaway specialty restaurants? We appreciate any info you can give us! Thanks!

  8. I will find out on Sunday when I start my cruise! I'll try to let you know what I find out. I'm guessing the people who said the amenity is just showing my share of the $200 credit are probably right. But I'm also holding out a little hope that it means an extra $100. Either way, I'm happy.

  9. Hi!

My husband is a vegetarian and he is wondering if the Dawn offers a vegetarian menu in the main dining room. We were on a HAL cruise last summer and they had a big menu he could choose from ahead of time. But we had traditional seating on that cruise and I'm not sure how that will work with Freestyle dining. I know there is usually one vegetarian entree on the menu but it would be nice to have a few items to choose from. (He also does not eat seafood.)

Thanks for any info you can offer!

  10. This probably sounds silly, but I want to go to the beach and sit in the shade. (My husband and I have very fair skin so we need to be careful.) What is the best beach for us to go to while we are in Roatan? We don't need (or want) bells and whistles, just a peaceful place to enjoy the beach in the shade. It would be nice if there were some amenities like bathrooms and a place to get a drink. We also would like it to be as inexpensive as possible. Any suggestions?
