  1. We're going to St Maarten in September. We want to see Marigot & Maho Beach. We've been recommended to use Bernard's Tours which go other places too that we don't really care to go. Wondering if 1 hour is enough time to shop in Marigot (doesn't seem long enough to me) & if 45 minutes is long enough to watch the planes land & T/O and to watch the crazees ride the fence at Maho Beach?

Are there other tours that you know of that allows more time in these 2 places?

We've also considered renting a car. But most do not recommend it.

We do plan to leave as soon as we can after docking in the am, & we

Plan to return to ship long b4 departure time.

Any tips or suggestions you can give are appreciated!!!

  2. We're going to St Maarten in September. We want to visit Marigot & Maho Beach (to watch the crazees ride the fence). We don't really care to visit the other stops that we see on most of the tours. Any tips on how to get around at a reasonable rate?

Some of the tours that have been recommended only allow 1 hour at Marigot & only 45 minutes at Maho Beach. Is 1 hour really enough time for shopping & eating French pastries in Marigot???

We've considered hiring a taxi driver (if possible) & also considered renting a car. Any tips or info you can provide will be appreciated! :)

  3. I'm going to St Maarten in September. We want to go only to Marigot & Maho Beach & then back into Philipsburg. It seems that all the tours go to a few other places... Bernard's Tour #1 may be the best for us, however, I'm wondering if 1 hour is enough time for Marigot to do some shopping & hit Sarafina's for pastries? Then 45 minutes at Maho Beach doesn't seem long enough either... since these are really the only 2 places we want to go.

How about renting a car... seems we can rent with insurance & taxes included for about $100.

Or how about hiring a private driver outside the dock gate? Has anyone done this before?

    THANKS!
