  1. There was no actual proper Zumba classes when I was on discovery in August,,I checked the schedule thoroughly every day cos I do Zumba 4 times a week and I really missed it. They had various gym based things and an afternoon stretch thing. I just marched around the running track for an hour a day! Well,,tried to but it was like an obstacle course because people had put their sunbeds all over it.

Thanks Cappers, hoping for something when we're on the transatlantic days.

  2. Hello my friend hello, I would have joined you at the Zumba class, but we are not on D2 till 10/4/18.

Hope you keep me updated when you return looking forward to hearing all about the Duscovery. We are off on the 3/12/17 to Caribbean on Azura. Some of the gang are joining us. Have a wonderful cruise. Pat :D

    Hi Pat,

Not been looking at this thread as often as I did when we all went Transatlantic, which is possibly the best cruise we have ever done! Will let you know how we get on and any tips you might need. Still not sure we will get into San Juan or St. Thomas, hope so as they are the only new ports for us.

Hope you and the others have a great time on Azura, if we win the lottery we'll stay out in Barbados and join you all HA HA.

    Enjoy yourselves and take care,

    Elaine x

  3. Thanks Cruise Heaven, only a few days to go now.

Hope you enjoyed you cruise, we certainly intend to, at least if it rains we shouldn't get wet and we should get some nice views from up there.

Happy New Year to you and everyone else on this board.

    Rick.

    Hi Rick,

We had a great cruise, seems so long ago now. Would be good for future reference if you could pop a review of the cabin when you get back please.

Happy Cruising and Happy New Year!

  4. Hi Cruise heaven, Just got an upgrade to cabin A620 which is a few door away from you.

I see that the overhang might be a bit of a problem but we have gone from an obstructed view without sofa on G deck to this one which appears to have a sofa.

The launderette is more or less opposite so the wife is going to be tickled pink and I haven't got far to go for some fresh air and a pint, win win.

We go in January so if you are there before us could you leave us a bit of feedback regarding any noise from above.

    Thanks, Rick.

    Hi Rick,

Apologies for delay in replying about the overhang. As it happens we had our cabin changed to E705 so didn't experience the overhang situation after all. We did take a couple of pictures looking up, from our cabin, to try and give you the perspective of size or noise issues, which I have attached.

We did get the opportunity to visit a cabin with sofa, which certainly gives you a nice space. Sorry I can't help further. I hope you have a wonderful cruise.

    Kind regards,

    Elaine

  5. The balcony we had with an overhang got sun first thing in the morning and last thing at night, depending on which way the ship was sailing, lovely for room service breakfast and pre dinner drinks, we made use of ours at lunchtime too when it was too hot to sit out, it was a lovely shady spot. We often took food from the buffet and ate our lunch there.

Thanks for your message, sounds as if we may have more use of the balcony than we originally thought.

  6. Last week on Azura, Verona, the equivalent to Beach House was closed. There were future menus just slightly hidden that showed a cover charge of £5. The steak on lava rocks was an additional £2.50 so that makes it £7.50 total compared to £6.50 previously. I believe the new menus and charges will come into effect this week on the Caribbean sailing and probably the same on Ventura.

We will have wait until someone comes back from the first Caribbean cruise to get the full facts

    Hi,

We ate in Verona on Azura on the Transatlantic recently and yes they have introduced a cover charge as BrianI states above. We found it still as popular but I can see that some will be put off by the cover charge rather than going and choosing a no-supplement meal.

Menu is the same as before.

No pre-booking policy is the same.

Personally we would go again and happily pay the supplement.

    Enjoy!
