  1. My mom and I want to take the behind-the-scenes tour. She missed out on it when they were on their last cruise and were really jealous of all the folks who did take it, so she said, "if nothing else, that's what I want to do". The RCCL FAQ states that you can reserve that through the cruise planner. However, on my cruise planner, all I see for "onboard experiences" is the Barbie Experience. Does anybody know the best way to go about making sure we get on the tour? Thanks!

  2. I saw a video on YouTube that said RCI doesn't allow you to bring your own soda on the carryon. The description was amended to say that you were allowed to bring 1 bottle of wine per person, but it didn't say if the soda rule had changed or not (and I forget how old the video was). I'm planning on getting the unlimited non-alcohol package (hello...unlimited Starbucks!), but my mom was planning on just bringing a 12-pack in her luggage. Will that be a problem?

We're sailing NOTS on the 24th. Thanks!

  3. I'm going on the Navigator at the end of the month (super excited!). This question might be better suited specifically for the RCI board, but I'm asking it because I'm a first time cruiser (mods, please move if you think it needs to be).

If I purchase the "all non-alcohol" package and eat one meal at a specialty dining place, can I get an alcoholic drink without paying extra? I feel like I've gathered that you pay the $25 cover fee for the restaurant and get all-you-can-eat, but I'm not sure if it also includes margaritas without the über expensive alcoholic drinks package (I want some booze in my life, but not enough to justify an extra $45/day).

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  4. I've read a bunch of the review threads for cave tubing in Belize City. I haven't heard any reviews here about Cave Tubing R Us. That one popped up on a TripAdvisor search when I started looking at excursions, and had good reviews. I'm reading mostly about the .BZ and .COM companies on this board, and noticing a few differences (mainly the pictures of CTrU look like black inner tubes, while both the others companies have headrests and look newer). Also, I'm unsure if CTrU includes a meal or not, while the others do.

I'm wondering if anybody would recommend switching to one of the other companies or if folks here have gone with CTrU and can tell me anything about your experience with it.

Thanks in advance! I sail August 24 on the Navigator of the Seas.

ETA: One person wrote that they didn't have time to do anything but the cave tubing, and another said they got back to port with something like 2 hours to shop. My mom and I are interested in visiting the MOHO Chocolate Factory - is that something that we should have time to do after a cave tubing expedition?
