  1. Swedish weave I agree. That's why I had asked gift/gratuity. I actually just ordered a few good luck charms as thank yous. If I'm not somehow able to discreetly give them to the crew than I will pass them out to any kids that attend the MG. I know they aren't expecting anything but it's nice to be recognized. I think mostly my intention of the question was directed to the server and organizer. I'm not "paying" the captain to come schmooze with us. I'm there to meet other CC members. If they show up the only question I have is "What side are we docking on".

  2. I have been crucified on the tip threads for mentioning gifts instead of cash, but I usually take some items to give the officers who attend the M&G. One item they all seem to like is the small LED flashlights. I have seen them using them for inspections and they work well for that purpose. They also seem to like the pens with LED and lasers in them. They are not expensive and it is my way of thanking them for supporting the CC group.

That's a great idea. I'm sure they were pleased!!

  3. Thank you for responding. It just seems to me this is something extra and NOT something the cruiselines freely provide. Its more like an ass kissing party and feel that them going out of their way deserves a little thank you. Not sure a $10 bill is going to break me especially for what I paid already. If Im setting money aside knowing Im going to lose it at Bingo or the Casino than I think I will go against the grain and just tip them myself. Thank you for your opinions

  4. Im taking over a Meet and Greet and have a great idea on how to make it fun. Im actually pretty excited. My question is how do I tip? This isnt really part of NCLs everyday activity. Who do I tip? I dont want to leave anyone out. Bartender, NCL Event Coor. What do I tip? Money...gift...amount?? Would it be impolite to ask other M&G party goers to chip in for the tips/gifts/gratuity? Thank you in advance!!

  5. Heard my old rental was 3 feet under water...it wasnt called Beach St for nothin I guess. Good thing is my moms place has 7 feet of snow but dry inside! South Shore as well as Boston is due for more in the next few days. Today being Presidents Day was supposed to be removed as a holiday for the kids to make up a snow day but did they have safe enough roads to send them?? You guys still on a travel ban?

  6. On Sunday I plan for us to visit the Royal Naval and Convict cemeteries, Seaglass beach, Frog and Onion then a Sunset Swizzle cruise. Monday 9am ferry to St George for Tobacco Bay. Tom Moores Jungle/Blue Hole. Check the tide charts for Bermuda before you go. The tide for my vaca is ideal on Tuesday to visit Hog Bay. Then Fort Scaur. These are all subject to change...but for TODAY its what I want to do! Tobacco Bay has facilities. And if you go to the pharmacy in the Dockyard than you can get picnic foods and sandwiches since you cant bring anything but prepackaged food into Bermuda. The good thing about the Dawn is that it docks before the other ship so the tourist info places will be less crowded. Did you check the NCL website for transfers to certain beaches? If you dont want to risk missing the ship check into it. They run a tight schedule on getting you back on time! Have a great time! Dont forget Calico Jacks floating bar! Even if you dont drink at least walk the plank for bragging rights and photos!:D:D:D

  7. I am going from Blue Hole/Tom Moores back to Kings Wharf.

It looks like I can skip the busu Hamilton Bus Terminal if I take bus 1 and transfer to bus 7 right there at the rotary. That would save a good amount of time. Anyone ever done this?

    Bus stops are dotted

    Thanks...Im over planning again...a little obsessed lol:D:D

  8. another factor is that the snow that is removed from the streets contains all the crap that is on the streets: Oil, trash, salt (melter), sand, etc. Dumping all that in the ocean is straight out pollution.

Letting it melt keeps most of the solids on land.

Wonder how many "solids" were alive at some point. Heard a couple incidents this year:eek:

Im leaving in May and hope they have some seasoned vets for boarding!:D

  9. Before my cruise I found uploaded daillies for the Dawn and they were super helpful to get a feel for what was in store.

Here's a link to a Dropbox folder with scans of all seven Freestyle Daily(s) from our New Orleans Western Caribbean RT on 1-18-2015.

I hope this is helpful for anyone about to sail on the Dawn.

Thank you! Its always fun comparing these to previous sailings! We have less than 100days!!!
