Thanks for the information. You have helped us make our decision on what to do with our 1/2 day in port. How much can we expect for a taxi to Pigeon Island? Is it easy to find a taxi at the end of the day for our return to port?

It doesn't hurt to ask. I called yesterday when I saw the 5 free perks. Although the price of our cabin stayed the same, the cabin I've been watching went down in price. I ended up upgrading from an aft-facing balcony to a aft-facing mini suite for $380 total (2 people). Received an additional $80 in on board credit and the additional perks (250 internet minutes and $50/per port excursion credit). We already had the specialty dining and unlimited drink packages. We probably won't use the $50 port excursion credit at all ports as we've already booked excursions on our own. Hoping to at least use it at Great Stirrup Cay and Harvest Caye for claim shells & bottled water? Maybe someone can let me know if the credit can be used for this? Good luck!

Beautiful.....both the pictures and your music! Thanks for sharing.

The post was pure sarcasm. Thanks for doing the second grade math for us.
Sometimes sarcasm doesn't come across in print. I thought you were being serious as well. No need to be snarky, when your joke falls flat.

Can you get your meal "to go" and eat by the pool?

I figure the more the merrier. I hate making people wait when there is room.

Completely agree! We always offer to make room.

Found the link on the Mayan Healing rituals.

Again, no experience with this. And not my Big Red Cup.
Thank you!

Can't predict the weather. If not windy, beach is best option. At one time El Faro had massages upstairs, but new management moved them to beach. I'm hearing there's a new age- pseudo- mayan place that has various rituals including massages inside. Owned by port partners, so might be ship excursion. No details

My husband and I had a massage on the beach in the past. With the sand blowing around it felt like we were being massaged with sandpaper :). Can anyone suggest a location to get a massage that's not on the beach?

Me too. Not sure why some people are thinking you cannot. When I loaded money from the room account to the card, their system drew from the non-refundable.
I called NCL today and asked this very question. I was told you can use the non-refundable OBC in the casino. The gentleman actually put me on hold to double check.

We are staying at the Courtyard Marriott in Westbank/Gretna this weekend. The hotel has only been open a couple months. I had a suite booked for Saturday night in N.O., but when we decided to add another night we canceled and booked in Gretna. We'll drive to N.O. Saturday morning and park in public parking. Hoping this works out.....I've never stayed in Gretna before. As for parking while on the cruise, we decided to park at Fulton Place Parking. It was $9/day. Good luck planning! Hope you have a great time.

You're correct, ATT does not cover NCL - however, it does cover all the places being visited. You will not be able to use your phone on sea days, but can use it once on land.
Do you remember who you spoke with at AT&T? I need to call back because I was told the plan would only cover Bahamas and Grand Cayman, not Jamaica or Cozumel. $30 for two ports, hmmm....

Thanks for your reply. I guess I'll have to be adventurous and try new things!

Does anyone know if NCL serves Rum Chata? I did a search and found it mentioned in a thread about Fireball, but couldn't confirm if they carried it. Rum Chata + Fireball = :). Also good with Not Your Father's Root Beer, or Coconut Vodka.......So many possibilities! Thanks!

I have to agree, I don't like this port. A few years ago we did a ship excursion to the ruins. The perimeter was heavily guarded by men with guns. Makes you wonder why so much security is needed? On our way back, our bus passed through several small towns. The people appeared to be annoyed by our presence, and we were "flipped off" by a few young men. When we commented on this, the tour guide just laughed it off. He stopped laughing when a man on a bike pulled in front of the bus and slowed down to the point where our guide had to brake. The tour guide said the man was just "joking around". Really? I'm watching him, flipping us off, and I don't see the joke? Honestly, I was worried it was a plan to stop the bus, and gain access. I will tell you, there's worry/fear of what's going to happen, then there's the fear you feel when you think you're going to have to protect your children. Obviously we are fine and some will say nothing would have happened because their economy relies on our money, or it could happen anywhere. Truth is, of all the places we've visited, this was the most frightened I've ever been. We have a cruise coming up, which stops in Belize, but we'll probably stay on the ship.

Ask a simple question and get some snarky replies. I was interested in your question that is why I opened the thread. Thanks for the great feedback by those that gave information and not criticism of what has been tipped in the past.
Kindness is free, sprinkle that stuff everywhere.
I think you misunderstood my post. I was agreeing with ignoring the rude post....stating it wasn't necessary. Guess I kept it too brief. I can't stand when someone asks a simple questions and people have to be rude. If you don't like the question, move on. Don't make comments about whether or not someone can afford to stay in the Haven. Again, that's in general..not directed towards you or the original post :)

Another question: How do I ignore posters.
I agree!! Couldn't understand why that was necessary!

Just heard back from the PCC and the Choice Dining credit is just that, a credit that can be used toward specialty dining once you board. It is totally useless if you want to purchase the UDP. I'll be watching for some other kind of promotion hopefully they will have something better down the road.
Good to know. Thanks for confirming! :)

I really wasn't going to chime back in here after reading some of the replies my post stirred up, however g35girl and chrisc71 hit it on the head.
They call our favorite cocktails rum & coke, Jack and coke, and crown & coke for a reason.
Luddite - no "seriously" - we do not just drink too much "pop" (how judgemental is that?), our cocktails of choice have a coca-cola (diet coke actually) product mixed into them.
I Agree with the statement "who ever heard of rum & Pepsi?"!
Don't forget, in some parts of the south, a coke is any sweet carbonated beverage.
Should I be tipping anyone on board? First time NCL cruiser who "pre-paid service charges" needs to know.

We were on the Breakaway last month. Asked the bartender at one of the bars if he got to keep the cash tips. He said the bartenders & bar staff split them at the end of the night.
