  1. We are going on our first p and o cruise (20th September Oceana) . Starting to think of my packing and have a couple of questions.

1/ Are the laundrettes open on embarkation day, we are spending a few day in Malta before hand and I could wash the clothes that we have already worn.

2/ Would this be the quietest day in the laundrette

    .

3/ How much do the machines cost per load and do I need cash or use my cruise card.

4/ I understand that there is only 1 british plug socket in a balcony cabin. Can somebody recommend a suitable adapter, maybe Argos or other high street brand.

    Thanks in advance.

  2. I envy the men in their tuxes. They don't need to decide what to wear. And as for push up underwired bras, and spandex and heels. They don't know their born. I got no sympathy for them. And when sitting under an air vent with bare shoulders....

Too true, but I love dressing up for a night out, now all I have to do is try and sort out shoes.

As its a fly/cruise I'll have to try and cut down:)

  3. Thank you for your advice. I have a wardrobe full of dresses and I love dressing up for a night out, but as this is a fly/cruise I don't want to take too many just in case clothes.

I don't mind being overdressed a bit, but would hate to be underdressed.

Last time we on Celebrity (2016) they had just gone Chic, so I am looking forward to Formal.

  4. We are off on our first P and O cruise in less than 3 weeks and I am starting to think about clothing and packing. I know that P and O will be more formal than our previous cruises on Celebrity, but we enjoy dressing up so are looking forward to Formal Nights.

Evening casual is the one that confuses me, what do you ladies wear, day dresses, maxi dresses or even cocktail with a bit of lace and sparkle.

I'm not a trouser and blouse sort of person on holiday, reminds me to much of my work uniform.

So I would love to know what you wear on casual nights with photos if possible.

    Thanks in advance.

  5. I'm also based in the UK and used a high street TA to book my first cruise, they have a cruise specialist and you make an appointment. The first time she must have spent an hour with me going through my options and I went back at least 8 times before the cruise and she helped with everything from upgrading my drinks package, excursions and general questions ( I didn't know about CC then)

She even contacted me when we got home to make sure that we had had a great time. I've booked 2 more cruises with them since and would use them again.

Booking in the UK is different from the US, your deposit is non refundable unless its for a reason that you can claim on your travel insurance ( recommended) and normally you can't get price changes.

The 3 cruises that I've booked the price hasn't changed much until the last minute and then the lower price has been for a guarantee with no perks, so if you think the price is good with the perks that you're getting just book and start looking forward to your new addiction.

  6. I am starting to do some research for a Mediterranean cruise hopefully May or June 2017.

I have looked on a few web sites but cannot find anything for p and o, am I looking in the wrong place or have these dates not been released yet, there seems to be cruises for most other cruise lines but not p and o.

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

    Thanks
