This is my first time on Celebrity. We have a classic package and drinking brands aren't an issue for us. I would like to try lots of different cocktails. Are you limited with the selection available for cocktails?

Thanks for the suggestions from all of you!

Would a cab or Uber have enough space for 4 passengers and 4 bags?

We will be flying into LAX the day before our cruise so we can't take the Princess transfer to our hotel which is in San Pedro. Does anyone have some suggestions for a reliable and reasonable method of transport for a group of 4 getting there? Thanks for your suggestions!

A BT told me the best deal was the classic as about 90% of the drinks ordered by the passengers are covered under the classic.
Even if you have the premium package they will make drinks using the well spirits that are covered by the classic. If you are at the Martini Bar or World Class bar those menu drinks are Premium.
Try the classic for a few days. If it doesn’t work upgrade to the premium with a BT that you like as they get all the gratuities (20%) added to the upgrade of $10/day for the remaining days. As others have posted only one has to upgrade but it can’t be done if only 3 days are remaining on the cruise.
Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
So if after 5 days I wanted the Premium package I would be able to change to it and only have to pay for the remaining 5 days of my cruise?

Thanks to everyone for your replies.

Here is a link to a table that compares Classic to Premium etc. Bev. package info Now from what I am told... the coffees in the cafe are included in Classic..unless you pick a fluffy drink with alcohol. Drinks like pina coladas are also included. If you like martinis... you may have to ask for a martini that is covered by the classic package at the martini bar...because the ones on their menus exceed the $9.00 limit. But even if you choose to try one of their opulent drinks.. you will be charged the difference in price vs $9.00 plus gratuity on the difference. You can get whatever wines fit the pricing as well. one other note...if you want a drink that includes a liquor not on the list..there will also be an upcharge...eg Baileys
Thanks!!

You’ll be fine, but the upgrade to premium is 12.00 per day..which I would hit almost daily at the Martini Bar. I always upgrade…if for nothing else, not having to sign slips for the price differences…and like the good Liquor..
Can one of you get the upgrade and not someone else on your booking or do you both have to get it?

This is my first time on Celebrity. I am getting the Classic Drink Package. Are most drinks included? If you want a drink not included on the Classic Drink Package, can you just pay the difference to get a more expensive drink?

Thanks to everyone who replied to my questions.

I have cruised in Alaska twice on Princess and saw that in 2022 they will be stopping in Sitka where I have not visited. Has anyone gone to Alaska in mid September? Were you able to see the Northern lights? Have most of the whales already migrated south by then?
Thanks for any info you can share.

Thanks for writing this interesting and informative blog. We will be going on our first Celebrity cruise in January and this provided us with lots of information and ideas.

All that I saw was individual restaurants, not a package.

This will be my first time on Celebrity. How much is the dining package? I don't see it when I look on the Celebrity website.
-
We just got off the Crown. The soda package was soda, cocktails and hot chocolate. No milkshakes or smoothies.

It's a great benefit for a full suite. Make sure to go up to the spa soon after boarding to get the sticker or whatever they use to show you can use the thermal suite. There may be a limit to the number of people having access to the thermal suite (there was a limit when I was in a suite a few years back) The thermal suite consists of steam rooms and saunas and cool mist showers but my favorite was the warm stone benches. So relaxing to just lay there reading my Kindle relaxing my muscles with the heat. There are plenty of towels available in the thermal suite so no need to bring one up from your cabin. Enjoy.

Sounds great! Thanks, Jackie.

Can anyone please explain what the thermal suite is? We will be in a suite in an upcoming cruise and we will have access to it. Thanks.

We will be on the Regal on Veteran's Day and I was wondering if Princess does anything for the veterans on board. I hope they do as it would be really nice if Princess recognized them in some way.
We were also on the Caribbean Princess last year for Veteran's Day. They had a touching and memorable memorial for veterans. We were all in tears. It was so wonderful that they chose to honor our veterans in such a wonderful way.

Thanks for the tips! We're going on the Panama Cruise on the Coral in January and will these insights will come in handy.
Any advice on good excursions?

Ann,
Just got back from my Panama Cruise where we had our slot pull. Thanks for the spreadsheet template. It really helped us out.
We were on the Coral Princess and on the first day of our cruise, we went and spoke to the casino manager. He suggested a machine to use and on the day of our slot pull, he had the machine reserved for us. He also gave us a T-shirt and cap for the player with the highest pull and also $1 coupons for all of the players to use after our slot pull.
We each put in $9 (3-$3 hits) and ended up with $15 so we all ended up as winners and had lots of fun.
Thanks again for your help!

Hi Kathy and Ken' date='
Just sent the info to your email. Should be there now. Have fun with it.[/size']
Thanks so much! Looking forward to our Slot Pull now that we know how to work it!

Ann,
I hope that you are feeling well after your surgery.
I am all set for a Panama Canal cruise in two weeks and a few of us are thinking of running a Slot Pull. Thanks for keeping up with this roll call giving us information. I would appreciate it if you could send me a copy of your spreadsheet and any other pertinent info to kathyy@optonline.net
Thanks so much.

Rick,
Thank you so much for your reviews. My husband and I eagerly
anticipated reading your reviews each day. We are so much looking forward to our own Panama Canal trip on January 3rd!
Thanks again.

We also have a group of 6 with 3 cabana mini-suites on deck 10 booked for October 2024 cruise. Until today I didn't realize that our cabins on deck 10 on the Sun are directly above the buffet. I had not clue that cabins were not below us on this booking. Hoping this will not be too noisy....
