  1. Hello... Jim here. I will be on board with my daughter and a good friend. My partner is staying home to watch the dogs..... me and him are taking a Sept cruise out of Miami ..... so this is a dada daughter trip. I think I posted on a post your x wife's post on the roll call page. We are so looking forward to this trip. 9th cruise on carnival...also have done celebrity NCL. And RCCL. We hang out a lot in the casino bar.... look us up. We love to meet new people. We just got back from a 9 day (4 and 5 day) back to back last month. I am from Houston and Lisa (cruise wife) is from PA . We met on a cruise last year and this will be our 5th cruise together. . My daughter just moved back in with me. Jamie. She is 33. Hope to see you on board. Less than 30 days now!!!!!!!!!

  2. I was on the fantasy last week. I did the 3 day and b2b for the 4 day. Yes the casino opened at 7 pm while in port. activities we pretty normal for the day. The main dining rooms opened as open seating for dinner. no assigned dinner for that night only.

  3. Last month I took my first solo cruise.... I too felt nervous about dining alone. I did what others said... I asked to be seated at a large tale. By the end of the first night... I met a lot of people. I never once felt like that "lonely guy". I have to say I think I enjoyed solo more than all the other cruises I have been on. I did what I want when I wanted. I also joined the roll call on here and on FB. I helped organize a meet and greet for the group and was active on the roll call postings. In fact.... I made a couple of good friends. We are now working on a booking to meet again on another cruise. You only feel alone if you want to feel alone.

  4. Doing my 1 st solo cruise Sept 19 out of Miami. I am from Houston Tx. I was new to cruising last year. But...... I caught the bug.....lol Have taken 5 cruises since May of 2014. I have this cruise booked along with a Halloween cruise out of Galveston with a group of friends. BTW Halloween last year was a blast.

I have meetings for work in Miami and am staying over to take the short 5 day on the Victory. Seems like a 5 day would be a good time to try a solo. If I hate it it won't be too long. I am looking forward to being able to relax and do what I want and not worry about keeping up with a group. As others have mentioned, A little worried about dining. I chose late dining with a 8 or more group table. I do enjoy meeting new people, but can be some what shy at first. I am a 52 yo gwm. So I am sure I can handle this. Just a little nervous thinking about it.

Has anyone done solo out of Miami on Carnival Victory? Any tips would be appreciated.

  5. Cloud 9 Spa is available on Carnival Splendor, Carnival Dream and Carnival Magic.

I think that the victory has spa treatments that you can pay for.

From what I can tell, They have the free steam rooms and sauna in each of the gym locker rooms that can be used free by all guest. They have windows that look out over the ocean and are very nice.

I know this is how it was when i was on the Triumph a few months ago.

I will be on the Victory Sept 2015. I will let you know

  6. I was on the Jewel May 23rd. I had pretty good luck. On my 1st $20 on the first night I hit $750. By the last night I was down to 150 of "their" money left and I hit another $600. These were both hit on penny slots on the wall by the rewards counter.... I think that is what it is called. It is where you get your casino card to use when playing. I won more than my final bill, I don't think I can complain.

  7. Was wondering if there was an indoor lap pool in the spa...as part of the pass? Thanks

No there is not a lap pool. On the mens and ladies side there is a Steam Room a Dry Sauna a cold dip tub and a tropical rain shower. along with 2 regular shower stalls. in the co ed area there is a large hot tub with build in loungers and the stone heated lounge chaises. I was on the Jewel a couple weeks ago and purchased the week pass for 149.00 daily pass is $40 a day. Well worth it. I think it opens around 6 or 7 am and I know it closes at 11 pm. On the last day it closed early at 9 pm. If you want a weekly pass you need to buy it on the first day. They only sell like 100 weekly passes. The entire week I never saw more than 2 or 3 people in there when I was there. Most evenings I had the place pretty much to myself. I never used the tiny shower in the room all week. I would spend time in the spa and shower there and got on with my day and would revisit later in the evening on most days. It was VERY relaxing.
