  1. I may be wrong but I have a feeling the 2 bottles per stateroom only applies on Embarkation Day. Any other time it will be held at the gangway and returned (hopefully) on disembarkation.

    OD

Thanks for that, might go and get a couple of bottles before we go then.

  2. I was not planning to take any drink with me as already have the drinks package but would be nice to have a glass of wine in my room some nights, save me going to the bar.

Would I be able to bring on a couple bottles of wine from any port we have visited if i've not already brought it on before?

  3. Was thinking of booking a meal in the Tusan for my wife and I.

Preferably on the night we leave from Lisbon.

Can I book before we leave? If so, how do I go about it!

What time of night would be ideal?

Think it would be lovely sailing away with Lisbon in the back drop.

    The ship departs at 6pm.

If I had to change my mind when we were on the ship would I be able to cancel, no cost etc?

    Thanks in advance.

  4. Dont worry, I am sure you will all love it, our boys have cruised with us on Celebrity and enjoyed the kids club, the pool, the sports deck, and of course all the food! Just do a little research for your port stops, so that you can find stuff to do that will be family orientated, as many have said, it comes down to parenting, I wouldnt let my kids be roaming at night for safety reasons, we have never encountered any issues and my boys are 12 and 16. They have actually made some good friends on board who were adults, and so did we, one of the reasons we continue to love Celebrity. Check out my blog there are a couple of videos and some stuff about cruising with kids, and have a fantastic time!:) p.s if you havent already, maybe join your roll call, so you can 'meet' others on your cruise before you go.

Thanks, will have a look today.

  5. Going on the Eclipse in 18 days for our first ever cruise with my family. We have two girls aged 13 & 8.

Starting to worry now after reading some of these comments that we have picked the right cruise. This is just as much their holiday as it is ours.

They like to get dressed up and eat out and try different things, not just burgers and chips.

Just hope there is things for them to during the day.

    Got me worried now.

  6. Hi Scotto1970,

I see you are new here... Welcome to Cruise Critic and to the Celebrity Board.

The choice is yours to make.

Option # 1 means that Celebrity does the Exchange for you and your Credit Card is processed in the Currency that your card is issued in

Option # 2 means that Celebrity charges your Credit Card in US Funds, and the Credit Card Co does the exchange... And often will also charge you a foreign transaction fee as well.

Generally speaking, we as Canadians have found Celebrity's Rates to be favorable... So we use Option # 1 when we book our cruise

    --- --- ---

Your CC Profile doesn't give your location info... helpful if you fill that in... When it comes to Questions where country / citizenship can make a difference

    In this instance for example...

If you are Canadian, I would recommend that you get a Cdn Bank issued Credit Card in US Currency... As it is very handy for travelling to the USA & abroad. We use ours for the onboard portion of our cruise as the Ship's Accounts are all done in US Currency.

Know that other Cruisers who are not Americans (UK, Australia etc) often buy OBC (on board credit) when rates are favourable for their currencies thru the Cruise Line, so they can settle their Ship Account in cash.

Hopefully others will comment additionally so you'll get more of a perspective on what might be the most advantageous for you (especially so if you fill in your CC Locator)

    Cheers!

    Thanks Sloop.

    Location added.

  7. A bit confused, don't know what option is best to select.

    Taken from express pass.

For Non-US Issued MasterCard or Visa Cardholders:

If you use a MasterCard or Visa Card issued outside of the United States and one which is billed to any of the following currencies: AUD, CAD, CHF, DKK, EUR, GHP, HKD, JPY, MXP, NOK, SEK, the full amount of the charge will be converted to the currency of the card by our conversion agent at the exchange rate in effect at the time the amounts are charged to your account, and a currency conversion charge will be billed to your account. If you opt out of using our conversion agent, the issuer of your card may still charge you a service fee for your currency conversion. Choice of currency is final.

Currency Conversion Authorization - please check one of the following options:

I choose to pay my onboard charges in the currency of my card, i.e., I choose to use Celebrity Cruises currency conversion program and agree to the terms below.

This currency conversion transaction is based on wholesale exchange rates collected from Bloomberg plus a 3% international currency conversion fee. My choice to have charges billed in the currency of my card is final. I accept that the exchange rate used will be the rate in effect at the time the amounts are charged to my card without further consultation.

I choose to have my credit card issuer convert my onboard charges to the currency of my card in lieu of participating in the Celebrity Cruises currency conversion program.

If I opt for my charges to be converted by my credit card issuer, or if my card is not billed in one of the billing currencies listed, my charges will be processed in the onboard currency (USD) and the issuer of my card may charge a service fee for currency conversion.
