  1. We most recently sailed Indy in July and reservations were not required, though Adventure Ocean did fill up almost every night. We made sure to get there a bit before they opened and by the time they did at 7pm there was already a line of 8-10 kids waiting to sign in. One night we snagged the last spot and there were 3 or 4 people behind us trying to drop their kids off that weren't able to.

  2. We were there last November and it was a windy day that was a bit overcast, but we were never "chilly" even though we're from FL and "chilly" for us happens quickly! We went again a few weeks later in December and the weather was perfect! Nice and sunny, not too windy, not super hot but definitely a good beach temperature.

  3. We were at the Coco Beach Club on Sunday and had a great time. We thought the service was wonderful, the food was delicious and warm when it came out, drinks were great, and it never felt crowded at all. We'd definitely do it again, sorry you didn't have the same experience.

  4. We also had cabana #5 but didn't have a pager to page out attendant but all but maybe 4 or 5 cabanas were booked. The location was great and things were relatively quiet besides the speaker our neighbors were blasting music from. It was a good mix of songs so we didn't totally mind. It kept us dry when a rain storm came through mid-morning. Most people from our party and the nearby cabanas spent most of the day in the water in the cove or playing in the sand. Service was convenient but could have been quicker but we were there via Harmony so I know they were busy. We got it for a steal when I booked it for $399 nearly a year ago but not sure I'd pay the $1400 it was going for the few months before we sailed.

  5. We did a Northbound cruise on Radiance a few years ago and loved every second of it! Our group of 6 all agreed that we're glad we started in Vancouver and went North as things seemed to get better as we went North. While we wouldn't have been disappointed going South, we just liked the build up to the glacier, etc.

The days are long and we didn't spend much time on the ship so we skipped the drink package this trip and enjoyed the 2 bottles of wine we brought with us instead. A balcony is an absolute must for Alaska, IMO. We spent a lot of time on our aft balcony and there were always great views and we saw many whales, seals, otters, eagles, etc. Bring binoculars!

  6. From their FB page:

When we launched PTZtv Premium, we said we were totally committed to maintaining ad-funded, free-to-view webcam websites **provided** the online advertising industry remained viable and healthy. That is still true.

However, display advertising is no longer working for us on smart phones. Effective immediately ... some of the most popular free-to-view sites will redirect to our fee-based PTZtv Premium service when viewed on a phone. Today that includes Port Everglades, Port Canaveral, Port Nassau and Port Bermuda but the list may change over time.

Desktop, laptop and tablet viewing should be unaffected by this change.

PTZtv Premium subscriptions (or one-time access passes) will work across all devices, regardless of where purchased.

  7. Barefoot Beach Cabanas are for Suite Guests only staying in a Grand Suite or above. Nellie's Beach Cabanas are available for anyone. Prices of the cabanas vary depending on which kind you book ( Beach, Hilltop, or Over the Water). If you are a suite guest you can email your concierge prior to your cruise to reserve a cabana or you may be able to book one in your cruise planner. If not, visit the excursion desk ASAP when boarding the ship to get your name on the waiting list in case one becomes available.

  8. Question regarding the Royal awards...when do you redeem for the OBC? Is it tied to booking timeline or sailing timeline? DD and I are sailing Allure in August which we booked in February

IIRC, it's based on when you book. I believe you need to claim the reward and contact them within 30 days of booking your cruise.

  9. I barely gets dark enough. It didn't even look like night until after 12:30 am and by 3 am the sun was coming up. Even when it was dark, it was more like twilight than night time.

  10. We did dog sledding on the Mendenhall glacier via helicopter through GoBe and it was the highlight of our trip! We would do it 100 out of 100 visits to Juneau, hands down.

  11. I was on the same sailing as you, also on deck 12 (were you my annoying neighbor?? ;p) and agree about the bartenders in some of the lounges being 'off.' We encountered more good than bad, but there were a handful who were a bit on the rude side and you could tell they did not want to be there at all.

As for Falmouth, this was my 2nd time there and I'd be fine staying on the ship next time.

  12. One question for you, I heard that mid-way through the cruise, there is an opportunity to buy a drink "punch card." Did you see or hear anything about something like that? I wasn't able to commit to the full drink package but would be interested in something like that.

I was on the same cruise as OP and saw that a drink card was offered on Day 6, I believe. 10 drinks for $79ish, if I remember correctly?
