Don’t get me wrong. We had a good time.

One thing that that I was hesitant to mention is that this cruise had a different clientele than what I have seen on Carnival’s longer cruises in the past. It was more like the experience I’ve had on short sailings. Loud, rude, etc. Near fights over the ice cream machine line. People cutting in front of others who had been waiting for crowded elevators. People getting into elevators without letting others off. Teenagers roaming the ship being loud and obnoxious, commenting on our gold VIFP status (who knows what they might have thought if they’d found that my seven-year old has a gold card too) and saying that I must be rich because I have a three-year old Apple Watch. Adults crawling over you to get to seats in the theater rather than walking down the aisle to get to the row they want to sit in. A drunk woman picking up her kid at the club while loudly proclaiming she needs to f*** someone in the presence of children. Then my son being hit in the club. I don’t know if that is a trend or if there was just something about the time of year, port, and itinerary that led to this crowd. If all of my Carnival cruises become like this, I will think harder about moving on to another line. For now, I’m willing to hope it was an aberration.

I was on this same cruise and totally agree on the people.  It was very odd and not at all what I expected on the longer Southern Caribbean cruise.  It was very similar to the 4 and 5 day to Cozumel that I've been on several times.  Just a lot of rude people and I'm not in the least uptight.

We usually do the second night ( free wine / kids club not available first night) and the last night (last hurrah before heading home).

The kids club not being open the first night explains why there were screaming kids on either side of us the first night we went.  We went 4 of the 8 nights on our last cruise and the first night was the only night kids were there.

  3. Going on the Breeze again October 6th as well. We are going this week because it is Fall break for us. I priced the same week on the Dream and it was quite a bit more expensive. I've been on the Dream out of New Orleans as well and did the Western itinerary. The drive for us is about the same as we live in Alabama. It was a no brainer for us. Cheaper and Eastern Caribbean.

  4. Thanks crusing48/51!!

I did see on the Verizon site FAQ that you pay for the cruise through the account so I'm sure they do not accept Carnival cards as payment.

The cruise I have booked in May is $207 cheaper than the early saver rate I booked, but it is still cheaper by booking through Carnival and then getting the 10% off eCards.

Also does not seem that you will be eligible for any price drops if booking through Verizon.

  5. I would like more information on this as well. I have successfully purchased the ecards and paid towards my cruise I have previously booked through Carnival.

I am looking to book another cruise and it is cheaper to book through Verizon rewards site.

Can we book at the cheaper rate and then buy ecards to pay off the cruise?

Where would we pay on the cruise booked through Verizon rewards?
