  1. In Molly’s announcement email, it was also made quite clear that Diamond Plus members were entitled to use the Concierge lounge. What a joke. I’ve got to this level on inside cabins and it’s taken a long time, could never afford a suite, so I really appreciated the benefits. Looks like I wasted my 11years of loyalty. They’ll be making the same changes to the Explorer too. The other cruise lines are now looking more and more tempting.

  2. Shocked at treatment of Diamond Plus crown and anchor members on the refurbished Voyager of the Seas. It seems that emails advising that Plus members could still enjoy the new Suite lounge as they had when it was the concierge lounge are “a mistake from head office “. We have been downgraded to share the roughly 31 seat diamond lounge (about the size of an interior cabin) with the Diamond members with occasional overflow allowed into the adjoining Star Lounge if it happens to be free. Why bother to be loyal to royal when the same benefits apply if you’ve done 80 days or 300 plus. I have a 49 day booking later in the year and I will be canceling at least the Voyager leg and definitely looking at other cruise lines, which I haven’t done while wasting my time accumulating crown and anchor points.

  3. Cruising on the Explorer Sydney to Southampton from 29th March. Regarding the Indian e-visa, their website (documents required section) says you only need to download a copy of the picture page in your passport in one section. In another it says you also need a separate square head shot. Can anyone advise me how they went about it successfully.

  4. Thank you all for your help with my St Petersburg

tours, I have booked with TJ.

I am now hoping you can advise as to whether it is a good idea to book ship tours, private tours, hop-on buses etc, in Copenhagen, Visby, Helsinki, Tallin and Stockholm. I have heard that the ho-ho buses in these cities can be a little unreliable.

Are they small enough cities to explore on your own, I will only ever come here this one time and don't want to miss anything important, but I have heard there is not that much to see anyway.

Thanking all you cruising experts in advance for your excellent advice.

  5. Hi All,

Cruising on the Brilliance of the seas next year. Have done bit of research into tours available in St Petersburg and now cannot decide between the two-day tours offered by TJ, Allah or SBP Tours. Prices etc, all similar, any horror stories about any of these companies I should be aware of? At the moment I am leaning towards TJ or Allah. Decisions! Decisions! Please help...

  6. My first post! Cruising from Harwich on Brilliance of the Seas on 17 July 2015.

I would appreciate a few tips from those thaT may have done it before. I've heaRd a lot about needing a visa for Russia, or having to pay through the nose for the ship tours, is this true? Can private tours be trusted there? Is there a historical sight there that one simply cannot miss?Does this apply to Denmark, Sweden, Estonia as well. Also, what is the best way to transfer from London to the port at Harwich? We have an ocean view cabin on the starboard side of the ship, is this as good as any? Lot of questions for a first timer typing with one finger eh? Can't wait for your expert opinions.
