1. For those of you who are familiar with the Sunshine -

I've read that you have to use some type of card to turn the lights on in your cabin. Can anyone explain how that works for me - do you use your sail and sign or should you bring another type card with you?

I'd kind of like to decorate my cabin door so it will be easier for my kids to find but I need to know what type of door it is. Could I use glue dots or should I use the gel things that stick to doors. We are on Deck 5 aft in some of the

    "new" cabins.

    Thanks!

You can use any card...it doesn't have to be S&S card...I used a piece of cardboard and just left it in the slot the entire cruise and just flipped the switch off when I exited the room.

  2. I was on one Sept. 21 on Breeze...click on the link above I just posted and you can view the thread that was recently posted and the bar menu is listed. The CHEERS! Program is well worth the money. I was on a six day cruise but waited til day two to purchase and saved money. I got my itemized bill on the last night of our cruise and saw that I had 45 adult beverages for the entire cruise. A grand total of $244 and some change. Well worth it to me. I will def do it again! Just note that you will be charged sales tax while at US ports even if you purchase the program and if you don't purchase on day one you are charged for each drink you purchase plus gratuity plus tax while in US ports and it is not considered at anytime part of the program. In other words if you buy a drink (domestic beer)as soon as you board say in Florida you will pay the $5.75 plus 15% gratuity plus 7% Florida sales tax. Then after that drink you decide to purchase program you will pay the full price of program plus 15% gratuity and for each drink while at US ports an additional sales tax (7% Florida sales tax). Hope this helps! Enjoy your cruise!

  3. We have about $150 in obc. Im trying to determine if that will be enough for us.

    1) What is the average cost(s) of the pictures taken? Id like to get the one that's taken when you board and one from formal night.

    2) On average, he and I will drink about 4-5 (p.p) alcoholic drinks a day. Would the cheers package be better for us or should we just pay for the drinks as we buy them? I also noticed you could buy bottles of water and soda as a package from Carnivals website. Is it worth it? I don't drink sodas but the hubster does.

    3) We aren't doing any excursions but would like to buy a few souvenirs while in port and of course eat, on average how much should we budget for that?

    4) The food one orders from room service, is that free?

Your gratuities will average $12 pp for each day of your cruise. Depending on what size pics you want the price range from $10-$20. Depending on what type drinks you purchase beer on average cost $5.75-$9...cocktails, specialty drinks, shots, and DOD average $10; just don't get them in the souvenir cups or it will be more. You are allowed to bring a 12 pack of soda on board in your carry on as well as bottled water. As far as souvenirs while at port make sure you bring cash, and I always eat on the ship as it is free. Room service is free, but it is customary to give a small tip for each order $1-$2 is sufficient. However, over the past I have learned that if you get hungry late at night I will usually grab a bowl spoon and several boxes of cereal and a milk at breakfast and carry it back to my room and put it away until I get hungry...usually curbs my hunger til morning. Hope this helps!

  4. Yes...they do except the calls...but if you have already submitted the form it usually takes an hour for a email response...if it is denied then call the # and ext on email and they will check to see of you are entitled to the price reduction

  5. We had it last Jan.and the one thing I didn't like was the wait between drinks...even if we were sitting there drinking them and they knew we were not cheating the system by giving them away. I like to get a coke and a mixed drink at the same time and the severs would not do it. That being said,it so worth it and I will be getting it again on my Nov. Cruise I just hope the bartenders aren't as "scared" of the rules as they were two yrs ago went it was first out.

So are you saying that if you get an alcoholic beverage you can't get a soda at the same time? That is jacked up! I'm like you...I like to drink and sip on my soda at the same time so I don't get crunk....the way it looks I'm gonna be drunk by my second drink....JK!

  6. On my last cruise we decided to rent bicycles in Key West. Just to give you an idea of the type of person I am I was 37 years old at the time, 506, and weigh 125lbs., I'm very athletic, competitive, and love adventures. I'm wearing a swim suit top and flip flops (which I don't recommend) Anyways, so me, my 18 year old daughter, her best friend, my mother, and my father (my competition) for the day, are cruising around on these nifty bicycles with little baskets on front. It had been pretty all day, and as we were starting back toward Smothers Beach to hit the Fury parasail it starts to rain. Me and my dad are constantly trying to one up each other, either jumping curbs, trying to splash each other with the many pot hole pools, and whatever else we can find. So I finally dig down and allow my dad a few feet ahead and I stand up and start to pedal as fast as I can. We have left the rest of our group way behind...can't even see them anymore. So as I'm attempting to pass him a car is coming along towards me so I jump the curb continue down the sidewalk, pedal faster as I'm still standing, I pass my dad, and hit another curb, and While I'm in mid air my freaking chain pops off the bicycle so my first initial response is do I run into the on coming car or eat the palm tree? Well first my toes and knees and sides, got mauled by the concrete as my feet were dragging across the pavement because as I stated before it was raining and my flops slipped of the pedals as I came down (not pretty), but I chose to hit the palm tree. The embarrassing thing is the car that was headed towards me witness the whole thing unravel and stopped to see if I was alright, a group of elderly men and women and ask me if I needed a ride somewhere...I politely stated no sir but thank you, as my dad zooms by me laughing uncontrollably. I then turn to the elderly gentleman as he has this look on his face of Discust like how can that man on that bicycle be human....I turn to him saying, that's my dad. He then stated hope you enjoy the rest of your time here. I met up with the rest of the fam about 2 blocks from where I got ditched, but I walked the rest of the way.

  7. I've cruised once before with CCL and going on my second in September. I too have done some of the very things that have been listed. I am glad I packed to much because on our travel down to florida all our luggage got wet in a monsoon and luckily I was able to get some of it washed on board. I will not overpack this time. I took like five towels cuz I didn't know they were provided. I will say that I will continue to wear my KCCO lanyard cuz I like it and it represents who I am no matter who makes fun...I am there to enjoy myself...if you get a laugh then I'm glad I was able to assist you in that...also I do not carry purses...if I don't have pockets then it stays locked up in the safe...but I don't wear stuff without a pocket unless I'm in a dress..And I'm still gonna rock my KCCO lanyard! I make sure I have packed all needed toiletries just in case...I have a family of three girls so you never know when Mother Nature will appear, and I always get lost....but that is nothing unusual! I don't plan nothing because there is never nothing to do...I do exactly what I want...because I'm on vacation! 😎🍻

  9. Last cruise I went on - the last night I hit the casino.. my parents went to bed in one cabin, and my daughter went to bed in the other.. it was just me out and about.

At 2:00am I realzied I better get back and drag my luggage out into the hall for the porters... so I went back to the room, put on my night gown, pulled my luggage out and *bang* the slammed shut......and locked... I was out in the hall with my nightgown on... no robe  So I banged on my door, but my daughter wouldn't wake up... so I banged on my parents door, got no answer, they were sound asleep.

I heard some thumping down the hall and saw an older man pulling his luggage out - I approached him (so embarrassed) and asked If I could use his phone as I was locked out.. He let me into his cabin - it was a tiny inside cabin and his wife was asleep - I was standing next to her, dialling the front desk - no answer... I noticed her teeth were in a cup of water next to the phone :D - still no answer, so I called my room, no answer... so I called my parents room.. FINALLY like after 30 rings - my Dad answered...

I thanked the man for helping me, just as his wife was waking up to find me in the room and asking him what was going on LOL

So I head back to our cabin and there is my Dad out in the hall in his underwear - you know - I lived 39 years without seeing him like that - and I hope I live another 39 years before I have to see that again!

Now that truly sounds just like something that would happen to me...only I don't wear night gown!
