  1. I have never experienced this. When we arrive at the MDR and asked if we want a table for 2 or do we mind sharing, we always answer whatever is easier, we don't mind either way. 9 times out of 10, we have been on a shared table..

We've just come off the Connie and much like this we were always asked which we would prefer. We always answered "whichever is easiest" and had a fairly even mix of tables for 2 and 6. Most of the time, if we were seated at a table for 2 we'd be seated at a table that allowed us easy conversations with the tables next to us. I think that it depends just on what is available at the time and where you can be slotted in. If there's a table of 6 waiting for another 2 or 4 diners then you can be fitted in there easily.

  2. Thank you for your kind words - have finally recovered but am missing the ship with fondness. It was one of our most enjoyable cruises to date!

I'm so glad that you all had such a lovely time - we fly out to Singapore on Wednesday and jump on the ship next Sunday. We're really looking forward to it and your diary has helped to build the excitement - thank you 😊

  3. I can't answer specifically for Equinox, but we had a connecting room on Summit in 2014 and the noise control was so good that we could hardly even hear when our travelling companions knocked on the door for us! It was an internal connecting door on Summit

  4. We have a day in Borocay during our cruise in March and would like to spend a nice relaxed day on a beach. Does anyone have any recommendations? At the moment we are leaning towards the D-mall and the beach there but we have no idea if it's easy to get to or if we should be considering another Beach! Any thoughts would be appreciated - thank you

  5. Thanks everyone for your replies they've been really helpful - I will definitely be shopping around before I put any money down! Mynki thanks for your offer but I've just seen the post about PMS so I will look around a bit :)

  6. We went Concierge class for our honeymoon last year but didn't really make use of the little extras - I don't think we were ever around for the canapes and because we were in the Caribbean we swapped out the towelling bathrobes for the plain old waffle ones. We're booking balcony next time around and don't imagine we'll notice any difference at all.

  7. Thanks everyone for all your replies they're really helpful. I think I might hang on for a while before booking and see how the prices and offers go - I didn't realise they changed them that much. Hopefully I'll find myself a bargain but if not we'll still be happy I'm sure!

  8. Hi everyone. We're planning on booking an Asian cruise for March 2017 but in the UK the Go Big, Go better, Go best pricing structure hasn't appeared yet on the website. The current offer ($300 on board spend) finishes in a few days and I wondered if anyone knew whether the go big go better offer was coming to the UK after that?

We will do pre-paid gratuities and a drinks package whether the offer appears or not. I know that no-one has a crystal ball so will obviously make my own decision but from experience, if the Go big, go better was to come to the UK, does it seem to be a better deal or would we be better off just booking now before the other offer ends?

We've only done one cruise before (also with Celebrity) so don't have much experience of seeing how prices and offers change. Any nuggets of advice would be appreciated!

  9. just back from our B2B on summit:

week 1 - big single group - lot of booze ....

week 2 - assume UK guys (and girls) drinking very very much...., sleeping on pooldeck in the end - extended the smoking zone close to poolbar at deck 10, smoking cigars at the pool bar at certain times.....

We did the same back to back as you and I am of course a UK girl who was with another UK girl and 2 UK guys :p We spoke to quite a few of the singles group in the first week and they were great. One or two might have had one too many at times but they were just having a good time generally, and if you can't do that when you're on holiday then when can you do it?

In the second week - we ate earlier, drank earlier and probably ended up going to bed earlier on the whole but we did not fall asleep on the pool deck and although we all smoke, I didn't see any smokers going past the designated area with the orange seating  I didn't actually think that there were that many from the UK on the ship in either week, so why you would assume that those who drank too much were all from the UK is beyond me.

  10. You don't have a certified copy, but do you have the original? In the UK, you can take original birth/marriage certificates etc along to the post office and they will certify photocopies for you there and then. I'm not sure if you can do the same thing over there but I thought it worth saying just in case. Hope that you get it sorted out in time!

  11. Thanks for the reply - I think it worked magic! I was just reading it and thinking that I probably would hang up when the 'on hold' music finally stopped (it was driving me insane!) and I got to speak to someone and pay off the balance. I dread to think what my phone bill will be when it comes through but at least now I'm all paid up! :D

  12. Hi everyone - sorry to start off with such a mundane post but I am currently on the telephone to the 'Personal Cruise specialist team' in the UK to pay the balance off our cruise in Oct and Nov. So far I have been hanging on the line for 1 hour and 11 minutes - is it always this hard to get through?!! Just wondering if I would be any better off hanging up and calling the booking line instead?
