Ive sailed on both ships. For the most part, they are the same. The Escape has a few more restaurant/bars. If you like The Getaways Itinerary, go for it. Sail the Escape next time :)

We stayed on the 13th floor in a mini suite. I highly advice you to stay as far away from Its 5 oclock somewhere as you can. We go to bed reasonable early and they love to party at that bar. Though they do make pretty fabulous drinks :)

My parents just went on the Getaway. They stayed in the Haven and dined in the Haven restaurant every morning. My mom raved about the coffee they were served. It came out in a French Press coffee pot. Would anyone be able to inform what kind of coffee they use? The waiter was telling them how the beans are hand picked. I'd love to order some as a surprise for my folks. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Done a check and the Holiday Inn and the Intercontinental are both booked for the day I need. Any other hotel close by that would be reasonably priced and in a safe area?

I say a thread awhile back regarding where to stay before your cruise. WE are flying into Ft Lauderdale a day prior to our cruise. (sailing out of Port of Miami) :cool: Where should we stay that won't break the bank. Safe area. Restaurants within walking distance. If someone knows which thread I'm referring to and would post it for me, I would be greatful. Ideas for hotels would be great as well.

Im hoping one of the pools on the Escape is Adult Only. We sailed on the Getaway last year and they had an adult only pool. Hoping the Escape will be the same.

Went on the Getaway in October 15, it was awesome and the main pool was "adult only". LOVED IT. Booked to sail on the Escape in December. Anyone know if the main pool will also be "adult only"??? Thanks!!

Any clue when Norwegian usually offers the "kids sale free" incentive? I would like to book a cruise for later this fall, but am patiently waiting for this incentive.

:DWas booked in a forward facing large picture window room on the Getaway. Just upgraded for a fantastic price to a category BX balcony. I know its a guarantee. But, I'm super excited to have a balcony room. Made my day :):)

I assume you mean calling back to the U.S ? St. Thomas is a U.S. port so that is considered part of your home calling area so no extra charge. Call Verizon and get a calling plan for one month for Nassau and St. Maarten and it gets you a discount rate. Once in St. Thomas you will see the Verizon logo you are safe to call.

I just called Verizon and was told I'd be charged $1.99 per minute to make calls. I'm not amused with them right now.

Curious how this works. We have Verizon cell phones. Will we be charged per minute while making phone calls while at port? We are visiting St Maarten, St Thomas and Nassau. Anyone have info regarding how this works?

Does NCL tend to do a price drop on their cabins right before a set cruise date? I'm wanting to upgrade my room, but the price difference is rather steep. Curious if they will drop prices to fill the ship right before we leave? Anyone have and advice on upgrading or price drops :)

Hi all. My husband and I are taking a cruise on the Norwegian Getaway in a few weeks. What's the best way for us to stay in contact with our children back home? Our kids are young and we will miss them dearly. I know cell service is most likely not possible during sea days. What have you done in the past to contact your children? Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
